Thinking about purple drones. Theres the initial freakout, but unless we go down the route of v and n suspecting uzi is dead and cyns playing with their worker bud’s corpse, i see uzi being their new admin bringing overwhelming relief
For one, uzi’s still half their height and weight and very lacking in the tentacle claw department. Knowing theyre Able to throw her around, as theyve DONE a few times before, brings with it a sense of agency. They can fight back, at least physically
But more importantly, they dont feel the need for that. Its uzi. The lame worker drone with daddy AND mommy issues. Their friend. What have they got to fear except inexperience?
Thats the crux of the conflict i think. Uzi has complete control over v and n and absolutely none over her emotions and impulsivity. That caused the Ping in the first place ‘oo what does this button in my head do’. Theres the fear that saying or doing the wrong thing in front of their admin might trigger Her to trigger something in Them.
But v and n being able to have a say and to experience uzi honing her abilities over them WITH her, while unpleasant, is so much better than how they had it with cyn. And, bonus, the purple is dark and pleasant, the exact opposite of how the neon yellow’s been burning their visual sensors for their entire lives as disassemblers
This is better in every way
