There's an epidemic doing the rounds in the gym, involving both fresh and seasoned lifters walking around with dramatic back arches. It's the Donald Duck conundrum. With no fix, there's an opportunity for nagging lower back issues, weak glutes, and non-existent abs. The gut sticks out to the point that you can't notice much else. It's a big detraction from a physique, not to mention a recipe for injuries, making every training session one step from disaster.

This isn’t a BAD thing, but it can limit overall movement. 

The pelvis tilting forward is typically a compensatory movement strategy for a lack of hip internal rotation. But often when you assess these folks (because they are in their resting position) they present with limited hip external rotation. 

The easiest way to improve this, is by getting the upper glutes to relax and hamstrings to contract… pulling the pelvis in the opposite direction (posterior pelvic tilt). 

Hooklying is my favorite way to do this!
