Summary
The heirs of Durin survive the BOTFA against all odds. The battle for Erebor is won, but the impending war looms ahead. Thorin Oakenshield, King Under the Mountain and his Kin move onward with their lives and rebuilding Erebor to its former glory while trying to overcome the ghosts of their past. A Dwarrowdam Warrior, along with her Dire Wolf, stumble upon Erebor by accident. But as it turns out it, this was the path that Thorin was meant to take all along and to right the mistakes of the past.

Bilbo has lost his memory after getting knocked out in Ravenhill, and is found by Thranduil. He’s taken to Mirkwood, unconscious still, to be treated. Upon waking, he discovers he has no memories of the previous year.
Unaware of this development, Thorin and his heirs lie recovering from their wounds and confined to bed rest. Free of the gold madness, the King orders them to search for Bilbo, as the brave burglar is still counted among the many who have disappeared during the fight. Despite this, they find no trace of Bilbo before a terrible snowstorm forces them to abandon their task and accept what they believe to be the hobbit's fate.
The King Under the Mountain mourns and, in the meantime, Bilbo sleeps.

Бильбо знает, что гномы - упрямые существа, и нет никого упрямее Торина. Но никто не говорил, что сам Бильбо был не менее упрям, чем его любимый муж.
Поэтому он последует за своим самым дорогим гномом через всё Средиземье, через равнины, горы и леса, скрывая при этом истинную природу их отношений (политика гномов еще никому не помогала), залечивая старые раны (и нанося новые) и узнавая что-то новое о гноме, которого Бильбо называет своим мужем (и о его большой семье).

Dwalin, por su parte, espera ansioso la llegada de Dís. Anhelando poner fin a los malentendidos y los rencores que los hirieron y separaron hace tantos años.
