Hal is 17, and counting the days till his 18th birthday so he can join the Air Force. Jessica Jordan is desperate to get her son away from the Californian airfields, so she calls in an old favour and sends Hal to spend a few months in Central City.
Darryl Frye hopes that their guest will help Barry get out of his shell, and forget about his mother's murder. -

It’s just for a split second. Barry’s gaze shifts slightly, intense and primal. Hal could almost convince himself that it was nothing, if it wasn’t for the heat of fear burning his skin.Barry goes missing for two weeks. Hal seems to be the only one to realize something else returned.

Bruce jumped down.
Then Barry jumped.
As his palms hit the concrete, a sharp crack resonated into the night. His pulse tingled throughout his flakey crimson palms, and faded when a cold sweat broke down his spine. His knee ruptured over in a searing pain before the cold blood shot the life out of his shin.Diana was kneeled to his side. Focusing on her was keeping the vertigo at bay.
He tried to look up at Bruce, just to make sure that it was okay to be hurting like this and that he wasn't obligated to get up.
Or!Barry's life flashes before his eyes after he suffers a life-altering injury that heals too quickly and leads to multiple medical complications on top of his mental instability. Bruce has messed up once again, and possibly for the last time. Diana spends her own time in the shadows as she comes to terms with feeling love again. Victor and Arthur have to step up as the formers' wills choose their priorities.
Includes many sicfic triggers with comic, movie, and TV elements.

When Hal first met Flash, he didn’t pay attention to the guy at all. He wasn’t even curious about him. Maybe if he had been, he would have known from the beginning that he wasn't even a guy.
Or in which Hal assumed that Flash, who pretends to be a man because reasons, was a man and had a sexuality crisis over it. Of course, everyone has a good laugh about it too.

Now, with Victor, everything made so much more sense. Everything looked brighter. And Barry questioned the way he lived his life. Maybe enjoying life itself didn't mean he was betraying his father or mother. Being with Victor, spending time with him and enjoying every second of it didn't feel like a mistake nor a flaw. On the contrary, it felt so right.
