"Missouri? You're sending me to Missouri?" Hal repeats. He can't have heard right. She can't really mean it, can she?
"I bet you can't even find it on a map." Jack comments.
"I can too, Jackass-"
"Harold. You're going, and that's final. Have your bags packed for Saturday morning. And for the love of God, don't take that jacket with you." Jessica Jordan says, turning away from her second child and effectively ending the conversation.

Hal is 17, and counting the days till his 18th birthday so he can join the Air Force. Jessica Jordan is desperate to get her son away from the Californian airfields, so she calls in an old favour and sends Hal to spend a few months in Central City.
Darryl Frye hopes that their guest will help Barry get out of his shell, and forget about his mother's murder. -

“Why are you a boy?” Jill asked.
Hal didn’t still. Everyone in the room was better trained than that. But there was hesitation in his posture. From behind his mask, Hal glanced up at the others in the room. This was an alternate universe version of Hal. There was an option for Hal to explain this away as just a difference between Earths.
“...I’m transgender,” Hal admitted. Clark catalogued the reactions from each of the Leaguers present. He’d known, and he didn’t know who else previously knew, but if anyone had a problem with it now, he’d remove them from the Watchtower before they could even blink. But none of them were disturbed, only shocked, even Barry and Oliver, Hal’s two closest friends in the League. They didn’t know and might never have known, if Hal hadn’t admitted that. It seemed Clark was the only one who knew, though Batman was as impassive as ever.
Or, a pre-transition child!Hal from a parallel Earth is time-displaced at the Watchtower, and the Justice League learns quite a few things about their resident Green Lantern. Then, Hal learns quite a few things about himself, and about fatherhood.

“Diana! Diana, please,” Barry whispered as he approached the Amazon, unsure if he should explain why there was an unconscious and half-naked Hal in his arms first, tell her when the Lantern had returned to Earth, or if he should shoulder past her and get his boyfriend to the Med Bay, stat.
Barry hated it. He hated how slow his boyfriend’s heartbeat was, how little heat was left in his body, how almost close to death Hal looked right now.
J'onn couldn't get a solid reading of Hal's mind. But from what little information the Martian could tease out, he suspected that Hal was in a different temporal plane. One where his parents were alive.
OR: Hal gets blasted into an alternate timeline where Martin Jordan survives the ill-fated flight.
