It was a girl with pale skin, dark hair, and charmingly amber eyes framed by white lashes, but Caitlyn only saw them for a moment before they strayed to the paper in her hands. She looked at Swain, who just stared back, with the ass face he made when something displeased him, which was a frequent occurrence. She decided to head to her desk, there were still a few dozen rules to copy.
They didn't speak, each doing their own thing, but Caitlyn couldn't help but glance at her every few minutes, and more than once she met a piercing gaze. They didn’t look angry, they looked curious, and Caitlyn thought her own eyes reflected the feeling.
And when Swain released her for the day, she felt a little (a lot) disappointed, both at the prospect of having to go home and at not being able to talk to the girl. Maybe she would be here tomorrow?
Caitlyn hoped so.
