Caitlyn leaned against the bar, eyes fixed on Vi as she moved through the crowd with a predatory grace that made the air hum with electricity. Feeling Caitlyn's stare, Vi turned to look at her, a sharp, feral smirk spreading across her face. She sauntered over, stepping into Caitlyn’s space with effortless dominance.
“Well, well,” Vi murmured, her voice low. “What’s a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?”
Caitlyn hummed, stepping closer. “Maybe I’m just looking for trouble.”
Vi’s grin deepened, her eyes gleaming with something dangerous. “I’d say you found it.” She leaned in, voice barely a whisper. “But can you handle it?”
Vi lingered for a beat, her lips curling into a teasing smile before she melted back into the crowd. Caitlyn’s pulse quickened as she watched her go. Well, this is going to be interesting.

Hey~
This is my first time ever writing a fanfic and I've only ever read about 2 and a half.
So please be kind! lol
English isn't my first language so sometimes you will find some whacky capital letters. If you find any that should or shouldn't be there please let me know.This story takes place in an Alternate Universe after the events of season 2 of Arcane.
If you haven't seen it, please make sure to watch it first since this story will refer to events throughout Arcane Season 1 and 2.We're travelling to a modern alternate universe, with similar technology to the present day irl as well as some new inventions.
This fanfic takes inspiration from the real world, Cyberpunk, Ghost in the Shell as well as the fanfic "Coming home (but not to you)", as in it's something modern around universities including professors.I'm still actively writing this fanfic so I hope I can keep up with getting one chapter out every few weeks~

I had originally posted a version of this a few days ago, that one had references to cult violence and cult themes based on the cult I was raised in. A family member found out and gained access to my A03 and deleted the story and the finalized draft from my computer. If you read the first few chapters of the original version, parts will seem familiar but this is a largely different fic. Hopefully it will serve the story even better than the original version.

She’s beautiful, with large blue eyes smudged with black eyeliner and a delicious-looking mouth. Freckles dot her nose and cheekbones. Even with her poor posture, Caitlyn can tell that her expensive, deep red suit fits her like a glove.
Caitlyn says, “You’re not Sevika.”
The young woman snorts and shakes her head. “No. And thank god for that.”

The sight of him alone ground Jayce’s struggling mind to a halt. He couldn’t make sense of it at first. The simple, undeniable visual input that did not mesh with his perceived reality. That he’d never again see those gaunt but striking features; that he wouldn’t even survive to miss them. But there he was, despite every stacked odd. There they were. With sun on his face and cool steel under his chest, hard pressure that made his lungs shudder as he pulled in air. With a faint whisper of creaking metal in his ears and a haze of ashy debris still settling around them. There they were. When that lone bit of data snapped into place, the realization that followed struck deep enough to wrench a sob from his core.
They were alive. They were together and they were alive.
Jayce and Viktor survive. The world picks up the pieces. There is a balance to be found between mercy and recompense, but Jayce will fight tooth and nail to tip those scales for the man he loves.

After Caitlyn meddles with an investigation into 'Firelight' activity on yet another cargo ship, the lovely Deputy Marcus fires Kiramman and she spends her time angrily learning how to play the piano. To her surprise, she quickly becomes an intuitive talent, and a year later, she begins to play for fame and fortune as Matilda Kareem. Fresh out of Stillwater the same year Matilda becomes famous, thanks to the rehabilitation program designed by Council members Shoola and Heimerdinger, Vi heads straight to pit-fighting, spending every spare moment looking for Powder. However, no one seems to know who Powder is, and this causes Vi to spiral.
Combined with the shock of being back in the Undercity and struggling to believe Powder might still be alive, Vi hits rock bottom and wastes months at the bottom of a mug. After running into Gurt at the shimmer-powered Last Drop, Vi takes a brief hiatus from pit-fighting to launch a formal investigation of her own.
In the quiet, Vi reluctantly finds another job to supply steady bribe money for her search. Two thoughts plague her mind as she adapts to this new change: Where is Powder? And who the fuck is Matilda Kareem?
