Caitlyn leaned against the bar, eyes fixed on Vi as she moved through the crowd with a predatory grace that made the air hum with electricity. Feeling Caitlyn's stare, Vi turned to look at her, a sharp, feral smirk spreading across her face. She sauntered over, stepping into Caitlyn’s space with effortless dominance.
“Well, well,” Vi murmured, her voice low. “What’s a pretty thing like you doing in a place like this?”
Caitlyn hummed, stepping closer. “Maybe I’m just looking for trouble.”
Vi’s grin deepened, her eyes gleaming with something dangerous. “I’d say you found it.” She leaned in, voice barely a whisper. “But can you handle it?”
Vi lingered for a beat, her lips curling into a teasing smile before she melted back into the crowd. Caitlyn’s pulse quickened as she watched her go. Well, this is going to be interesting.

Viktor blinks, exhaling through his nose, looking at the folders, at Heimerdinger, at the box, and back at the man. He already knows what — who — this is about. He sits up in the chair, pulling himself towards the box, eyes wide as he looks into it: it’s organized chaos, clearly. The poor manilla folders that were originally holding documents together are too-full to hold anything else, their only job now being to barely keep stacks of capricious ideas separate.
He barely realizes he’s shoved his hands on one of the folders Heimerdinger pulled out, tearing it open, eyes racing over print and written-notes and highlights, hands scuttering through the various papers and photos.
When did his heart change pace?
When did he start smiling?Viktor blinks rapidly, trying to get his eyes off the documents, barely able to pull his face away so he can look back at Heimerdinger who has a huge grin on his face. “My only complaint is me not getting this for Christmas.”

Hello! If you came here for the continuation of my one-shot: A More Tangible Demonstration That's awesome, thank you! This is its own work because it is now a female reader (changed from gn) and I wanted to leave the other one as a stand alone/fluffy teen-and-up piece. This is the explicit part 2, because they do make it back to the reader's apartment. It's mostly smut, a bit of fluff, and a teaser for a story. You are welcome to only read the first chapter and go on your way.
However, if you want to come along on an expansive journey (Adventure!) centered around the reader, please keep reading. This begins about a year after Episode 3 (end of Act 1). Jayce and Viktor are still figuring out Hextech (no Hexgates yet.) I'm estimating 7 years between Acts I and II. It will include S2. I have an outline and the reader will meet most of the Arcane characters (and more smut!) Now, the realities of what the future will bring will come into play and I can't guarantee a happy ending. (But there will be plenty of comfort, to go along with the hurt.) Chapter count is an estimate. I'm both excited and scared to write this. Let's go!

Getting hired out was something of a mixed blessing. On the one hand, it reduced your time owed, it brought you one step closer to freedom. It let you have a bath (With hot frickin' water! Score!) and put you into clothes and armour that were a lot better than the rags she normally wore. You got some fresh air, probably food that wasn't gruel and even got to feel the sun on your skin.
On the other hand, there was a pretty good chance you were going to die horribly to some horrific monster with more eyes, teeth and tentacles than anything really should have.

“You want me to apologize to some rich Piltie councilor for blowing up one shabby lab?” He’s got to be kidding. “Why? It’s not like they can’t afford to buy ten more of those. They probably wouldn’t even have noticed if the enforcers hadn’t made such a big deal out of it.”
“You’re not apologizing to Cassandra Kiramman,” Vander sighs and for the first time, Vi can see his age in his wrinkled brow and tired eyes. “You’re going to apologize to their daughter, Caitlyn.”
Vi frowns, “Daughter?” She didn’t know the Kirammans had a daughter. “Why the hell should I talk to their daughter?”
“Because Sheriff Grayson has told me that she’s been in the hospital since your little stunt topside.”
She stops pacing, her feet rooted to the old carpet as her blood runs cold.
