From the corner of her eye, Caitlyn sees someone take a seat next to her and she turns toward them with anticipation.
“I am so excit–” She pauses, her eyebrows furrowed. It’s not Sevika. It’s a short, slim young woman with teal hair, slumped in her chair in a disinterested posture. She’s beautiful, with large blue eyes smudged with black eyeliner and a delicious-looking mouth. Freckles dot her nose and cheekbones. Even with her poor posture, Caitlyn can tell that her expensive, deep red suit fits her like a glove.
Caitlyn says, “You’re not Sevika.”
The young woman snorts and shakes her head. “No. And thank god for that.”

Caitlyn es una estudiante de Psicología que decide hacer su trabajo final sobre TID, y para eso decide convertirse en la nueva compañera de cuarto de Jinx, conocida en el campus por su trastorno, para estudiarla correctamente, y tiene que mantener su estudio en secreto.
Aunque su plan está por arruinarse cuando comienza a tener sentimientos por Jinx, y por las otras cuatro personalidades que solo quieren algo de amor.

Inside, the party continues as if their hostess hasn’t abandoned them. Bass thumps in Caitlyn’s chest and she flicks the half-spent cigarette from her fingers and watches the embers fade as it falls to the sidewalk below, then explode into hundreds of tiny sparks against the concrete.
“Vi isn’t coming,” Jinx says. “Did you see her text?”
The animosity normally present in her voice is strangely absent. Instead, Jinx just sounds resigned. Caitlyn grimaces a little, wishing she had some way to cover for Vi. “I was hoping maybe she’d make it after all. It is your birthday.”
