Chapter Text

“How do I look?” White asked Black.

“Like you're going to an event.” Black said. “What are you wearing?”

“Just because we're going up there to get those two guys to quit before they start doesn't mean I can't look good.” White said.

  “Let's just go.” Black sighed.

“Hey, wait up!” White ran after him. “Do you really think we can make them quit today?”

“Yes.” Black said. “Let's just act like demanding, spoiled, rich kids and they'll quit. You're already dressed for the role.”

White smacked him in the arm.

“Won't Dan just find another set of bodyguards?” White asked.

“And we'll drive every single one away.” Black said. “I don't like people we don't know being in our home.”

“I don't like it either.” White admitted. “And it's obvious Dan expects them to live with us and follow us everywhere we go. I don't need someone hovering over me as I'm trying to do my work. Besides, this is supposed to be our safe space where we can do whatever we want and act however we want. This is our home and I don't want some strangers in it.”

“It just sucks that Yok will end up in the middle of this.” Black said. “It seems he's friends with those other two.”

“Do you think he'll hate us when we drive his friends away?” White asked.

“I don't know.” Black said. “But we have too. I don't want strangers in our home.”

  White nodded.

The two of them headed upstairs.

On their way they ran into the maids, who were helping Dicky and TaoTao clean the living room. They greeted them and thanked them.

“-school. They don't start until two more weeks but here is their class schedule so you can start getting an idea of their daily schedule. They will be spending most of their time on campus since they do have their own labs there. White usually is out of the building before closing but sometimes he does fall asleep so you'll probably have to remind him to start cleaning up half an hour before he needs to be out. Black on the other hand bribes the security guards to let him stay later so you'll probably have to drag him home to get some sleep most of the time.” Dan was saying as the two of them walked up the stairs.

“If anyone even tries touching me they're going to end up with a broken hand.” Black said.

“Ah, there they are. Let's do some proper introductions now.” Dan said, ignoring Black’s comment. “Sean and Gram, this is White and Black. Black and White, this is Gram and Sean.”

“Hello, it is a pl-” The one named Gram started saying but Black interrupted him.

“We are only here to let you know that we are not in need of more bodyguards.” Black said, looking at Dan and ignoring the others.

“What's the point? We get kidnapped and end up rescuing ourselves anyways.” White said.

“I-How many times do I have to remind you that you're not supposed to get kidnapped?!” Dan looked like he wanted to start pulling his hair again.

  Poor Dan's scalp.

“It's not like we go looking for people to kidnap us!” White said. “Besides, we already have bodyguards. Do the names Phupha, Neo, and Sarawat ring a bell? We don't need more.”

“They will still be your bodyguards. I'm not replacing them.” Dan said. “But as you know Yok works for the top bodyguard agency in the country and he is in the top ten as are Sean and Gram. They are the best in the country. No one will be kidnapping you in the future with them around. I guarantee it.”

  That did sound nice.

White turned to Black, waiting for his opinion. He'd never agree to anything without Black also being in agreement. They were each half of a person so all their decisions that had to do with both had to be made together. They've been doing it that way since they were kids.

“You're hiding something.” Black accused Dan.

White turned and looked at Dan.

He was hiding something. It was very obvious when Dan was keeping something from them and clearly he was.

“We will not consider additional bodyguards if you don't tell us everything.” White glared at Dan.

Dan sighed and motioned for them both to sit.

White and Black walked over to the empty couch across from Dan and the others.

“Spill.” Black ordered. “And if you lie or keep anything from us you will all get kicked out of the property.”

White knew Black was serious. Although he also knew Dan would be able to return but the others wouldn't. They'd be banned from entering the property ever again.

  Dan started talking.

  It was…a lot.

Black insisted Dan show them the folders with all the information and copies of the evidence and Dan reluctantly did. White watched from next to Black as his twin opened the folder and looked through the file.

There was some unhinged sicko trying to kill them and sending letters describing in gruesome details how they wanted to do it.

Realistically White knew he was safe in his house. Besides the property being covered in security cameras and sensors and dozens of staff and security and bodyguards living on the property the house had its own defense system. And now that Black had finished his A.I. there would be that to add to the security of the house.

No one would be able to get in without Black and White’s permission.

But outside of the property was an entire different story.

Whoever the person was targeting them had been close to them. So close that the pictures were clear and they boasted about being mere feet from them and knowing where they liked to hang out after class.

“How could you keep this from us?” Black demanded, glaring at Dan.

“I didn't want to scare you.” Dan said. “I know you're mad that I didn't tell you sooner bu-”

“And you expect us to trust your plan after you've kept this from us for months?” Black asked.

“Black, Dan wanted to find the culprit without alarming either of you. He's spent the past few months working tirelessly looking for whoever has been sending the threats. He knew you two were worried about other things as well as school and didn't want to add another thing to the list. This is his job Black. To keep you safe and deal with any problem and threat on his own without alerting you about every single one.” Yok defended his boyfriend.

“Obviously you knew.” Black glared at Yok.

“He didn't know. I told him a few days ago.” Dan said. “The day you escaped your kidnappers and you two passed out of exhaustion on the couch. I knew then that I couldn't handle it on my own and I needed help from people more skilled than I am. Those hours that I didn't know where you were and if you were unharmed or…dead made me realize that if I couldn't keep you safe from those men then I wouldn't be able to keep you safe from whoever is sending those threats and I needed help before it was too late.”

White could hear the pain in Dan's voice. He wasn't just the person in charge of their safety but he was also family to them. The only real family they had left if he was being honest.

“Maybe Dan is right.” White spoke up for the first time since the truth had come out.

Black’s head snapped to look at White.

  “What?” Black asked.

“Clearly whoever has sent those threats wants us dead and Dan has been working on finding who it is for months now but hasn't been able to find much because he's also tasked with keeping us safe. He's assigning the best bodyguards in the country to us so he doesn't have to worry about our safety and can focus on finding the person.” White said.

“We don't need them.” Black said but White heard the uncertainty in his statement and he knew the others did too.

“Are you willing to risk your brother's life just because you refuse to have bodyguards?” One of the men asked.

White and Black turned and looked at him.

It was the one named Sean.

“Did you just accuse me of putting my brother's life in danger?” Black seethe.

“That's what you will be doing if you don't let us be your bodyguards.” Sean said.

White was shocked by the man's bluntness. Especially because Black was not someone who was usually spoken to that way without Black getting into a fight with the person. No one accused Black of putting White in danger.

“The only reason I haven't hit you is because you're clearly Yok's friend. If you weren't I would have already dragged you out of my home.” Black said.

“What makes you think you'd be able to get a hit in to begin with?” Sean asked.

“Sean!” Yok snapped at the same time that White grabbed Black’s arm to keep him from jumping over the coffee table and lunging at Sean.

“I'm not going to sit here and listen to Dan try and convince them to let us do our job and keep them from getting painfully and gruesomely tortured and killed like the letters written by their stalker says. It's pretty clear that they have no other option. We're the best in the country and their only option.” Sean said.

“I thought you said you weren't going to be an asshole?” Gram asked Sean.

“I changed my mind.” Sean said.

“I want him out.” Black told Dan.

“Blac-” White tried calming his twin but it was no use.

“You can kick me out but we both know I'll be back because you need me.” Sean said.

  “Sean!” Yok scolded.

“Do you want me to beat your face purple and drag you out myself?” Black asked Sean.

“Black you need to calm down.” White tugged on Black’s arm as his twin tried standing.

“Go ahead and try. The only one who is going to end up with a purple face is you.” Sean said.

White could no longer hold Black back and he was forced to watch as he jumped over the coffee table and lunged at Sean. Sean looked unbothered and quickly defended himself. White watched as Sean realized Black was not some weak and defenseless rich kid like he'd expected. Black caught Sean off guard and got some punches in by fighting dirty. Sean fought back and the two started wrestling and throwing punches as the others tried to separate them.

White just watched the entire scene in front of him and sighed.

In the end they managed to separate them.

Both had bruises forming already on their faces and White got up and walked over to the bar and grabbed some ziplock bags and filled them with ice and walked back.

“Here.” White shoved the bag against Black’s face.

“Ow! Watch it.” Black said as he held it to his face.

White rolled his eyes and then turned and walked over to Sean and offered him the other bag without a word. Sean stared up at White with clear surprise on his face and took the bag from him, their fingers brushing and making White get goosebumps for some reason.

“Um, thanks.” Sean said as he pressed it against his face.

White didn't say anything and walked over to Dan.

“We'll accept the bodyguards.” White said.

“What?!” Black exclaimed. “No we wo-”

White turned and gave his twin brother his fiercest look that he only reserved for when Black has pissed him off to the point that he wasn't asking for his opinion on whatever the topic was.

Black shut up but White could hear him grumbling to himself.

  Whatever.

  White turned back to Dan.

“I'm glad you're accepting.” Dan said.

“We do have some conditions though.” White said.

Dan nodded and glanced at Yok, Gram, and Sean.

  “What are they?” Gram asked.

They spent the next thirty minutes talking about how everything would work. White and Black stated their conditions, most of them relating to their work and labs. There were a lot of top secret things in there and even though White knew Dan had covered them in the NDA, he'd obviously made them all sign, he still wanted to go over everything himself. They also went over boundaries they personally had.

Sean, Gram, and Yok agreed to all of them easily. Although they seemed confused and surprised by some, but they didn't question them and just agreed.

Phupha, Neo, and Sarawat showed up as they were discussing their conditions and just took a seat and watched and listened.

“Okay, is that everything?” Dan asked.

“That's it, for now.” White nodded.

“You can always tell us anything else later on.” Yok said. “We want to make this as comfortable as possible. Our goal isn't to make you uncomfortable in your own home but to make sure you have nothing to worry about.”

“I don't want him anywhere near my brother.” Black said pointing at Sean.

“Um, if you'd like one of us specifically to be your bodyguards that can be arranged but there might be cases where one of us is not available and another has to be.” Yok said.

“Black, let's not make things more complicated than they already are.” White said.

“I don't like him!” Black protested.

“We're not suppose to be best friends, idiot.” Sean said.

“See! He's antagonizing me!” Black said, pointing at Sean. “I don't like him!”

“Yeah, well, I don't like Todd and yet you still hang out with him.” White snapped, tired of all the arguing of the past hour.

  He was getting a headache.

“What does Todd have to do with anything?” Black asked, but White could tell he'd caught him off guard.

“I don't like him just like you don't like Sean and yet we're both going to have to deal with it because both of them will still be around.” White said. “Actually I despise Todd to be honest.”

“What's with the sudden attacks on Todd?” Black asked.

“He just came to mind when you mentioned you don't like Sean.” White shrugged.

“Okay, we can discuss how much Black doesn't like Sean and White despises Todd later but for now, are we done?” Dan asked.

“Yeah.” White said and Black nodded.

“What the fuck happened here?!” A familiar voice exclaimed from downstairs.

White and Black shared a look and quickly stood up and ran downstairs. Dan had to properly introduce Sean and Gram to Phupha, Neo, and Sarawat so they'd probably be a few more minutes but technically White and Black weren't needed anymore.

“Did you two burn your living room, again?” Eugene asked as she looked around the mess.

The maids had managed to clean about half of it already but it didn't look like an easy job.

“It was TaoTao and Dicky.” Black said.

“Of course.” Eugene said and then smiled. “Ta-da! Your favorite person is back!”

White smiled and hurried over and gave her a hug.

  He'd missed her.

“You got shorter.” She said as she hugged him back and White pinched her back making her yelp in pain. “Ow! Kidding! Kidding!”

  White pulled away.

“No hug?” Eugene looked at Black. “What happened to your face? That isn't from when you were kidnapped.”

Black gave her a quick hug.

“He got into a fight with one of our new bodyguards.” White rolled his eyes. “I thought you weren't coming back for a few more days?”

Eugene's smile dimmed. “I packed all my things and got the first flight back when I heard about your kidnapping.”

“Oh.” White said. “You…you didn't have too.”

“I was worried. Of course I had to come back and check on two of my three only friends.” Eugene said. “How are you?”

“It was only twelve hours and we saved ourselves. We've had worse.” Black said.

“That doesn't mean it isn't scary everytime it happens.” Eugene said, reaching for his hand and squeezing it. “I wish I'd been in the country so I could've seen you guys sooner.”

“Don't feel guilty. You didn't do anything wrong.” White said.

“How did your father react?” Eugene asked.

“He's pissed that we ruined his image or whatever.” Black said.

“You guys got kidnapped! How is it your fault?” Eugene asked furiously.

  White shrugged.

“I hate your father.” Eugene said.

The sound of footsteps coming down the stairs was heard and the three of them turned around to watch as Dan, Yok, Sean, Gram, Phupha, Neo, and Sarawat descended the stairs.

“Oh, you have guests.” Eugene said.

“They're our new bodyguards.” White said.

Black slipped out of Eugene's hold and walked over to the kitchen when his phone started going off.

“Eugene, these are Sean and Gram and of course you already know Yok. Sean and Gram, this is Eugene.” White introduced as he watched Black on his phone in the kitchen.

He zoned out as Eugene introduced herself again and asked some questions to Sean and Gram.

Instead he watched as Black spoke furiously on the phone with someone. From Black’s body language he knew exactly who it was and it was White’s least favorite person. The only person who could make Black feel even worse when he was already down.

  Todd.

Notes:

Anyone still here?

Sorry for the long wait.

I have so many stories unfinished and I want to finish them all but something always happens when I say I'm going to finish one so I've stopped saying it.

Last time I said I was gonna sit down and finish all my unfinished fics I got covid for the first time after avoiding getting it during the pandemic. It was back at the end of June. I genuinely felt like I was dying. I didn't fully recover until the end of August so two months just went to trying to regain back my strength and my mental health cause covid gave me major anxiety and depression. It was terrible.

Anyways how did you like the chapter?

Starting next chapter each chapter will be double pov.

Next chapter is Gram and Black.

Please leave a comment with your thoughts and/or quote your favorite part of the chapter.

Any comment is appreciated no matter how short or long but I'd really like to hear your thoughts and hearing that people are still interested in this fic will hopefully motivate me to update it sooner rather than later :)
