Just like any good slasher, THERE ARE RULES. & If you wanna slay with the Slash-Monkeys, you gotta follow the rules (There are 6 of them - Read THRU Rule 6...then re-read rule 6 a few times, mmk??) :

1. Slasher selections rotate between active #SlasherSaturday squad mates. In addition to fitting the slash criteria, skim the "Watched By" section of the selection's LBD page. Retreads are inevitable, but make an effort to pick something that hasn't been logged by squad members within the past 12mo. If that's too much work, then:
 Auto-YES from this list: SlasherSaturday suggestion library. WHY?!? To avoid retread.

Or pick something else that fits the rest of the rules

2. Slasher selections require a killer / murderer - typically human(s) - that stalks / preys / hunts using a certain style &/or with a motive.

3. Supernatural sh!t (ghosts, demons, hauntings, possessions, monsters, aliens, zombies, etc). does not USUALLY fit the slasher criteria; however, we totally accept Supernatural Slasher pic-picks & even other hybrids that justifiably belong.

4. NO SPOILERS. NOT A DRIP.

5. Aim for slashers that are accessible & affordable to our global membership of Slash-Monkeys.

6. We are a Boo / Ew-Crew; but NOT a LEWD CREW. Gritty, grimey variations of sleaze are abundant in this genre, but let's strive to make this a NO SMUT ZONE (or at least a Low Smut Zone).

RESEARCH your selection BEFORE SUGGESTING it.
CHECK THE PARENTS' GUIDE SECTION ON IMDB to better AVOID selections that glorify or otherwise perpetuate blunt sexism, transphobia, ableism, racism, homophobia, xenophobia, rape, torture, domestic abuse, PURE MALE GAZING / FEMALE OBJECTIFICATION crap, etc.

I (NotAnnaFaris) am the 'founding member' of #SlasherSaturday & I came up with these rules; HOWEVER, I am NOT a LetterboxD moderator or admin, nor do I want to be, so let's make one last thing clear:
REGARDLESS of each individual (cultural background / political stance / personal opinion / identity), this GROUP's priority values are inclusion, kindness, & respect. Every active member of this group is responsible for making this a SAFE SPACE for existing & prospective Slash Monkeys.
