“Hi!….No, I really mean that. Hi :)”

Horror is my fave but I also love a good movie cry and a banging soundtrack.

Quite enjoyed this! The use of color and lighting, plus the score were just so intoxicating, loved how this looked. Sure, you see the limited budget in some of the visual effects, but it didn’t really bother me because I was so transfixed on other aspects. The story is pieces of many other sci-fi horror films mashed together, but I was along for the ride, and boy does that last act makes it all worth it! We’re lucky to have such solid creature/body horror like this on the big screen today. More of this please!

“You have one choice, boy: sex or the saw! Sex is, well... nobody knows. But the saw... the saw is family!”

It doesn’t get much better than American treasure Dennis Hopper running around with an extra long chainsaw hellbent on revenge. Watching that chainsaw salesman go from horrified to turned on(?) as Hopper went to town on that tree trunk is pure cinema.

This is how you do a sequel to a seminal classic. Wait 14 year and then make…

This movie is FUNNY! Everyone is nailing the tone, especially my personal MVP, Liza Soberano as Taffy. She has this one scene that had the entire theater in stitches, she is comedy gold! Love how this film looks, great use of color, and Kathryn Newton is just delightful.

It’s actually just a classic whodunit undercover as a spy movie, so I ate this shit up. Also arguably the most romantic/sexy film I’ve seen in a minute, and there’s no sex! Everyone is perfect, but Marisa Abela really stood out for me. I thought she was pretty good in Back To Black, unfortunately that film sucked, so I’m glad she got to be in something solid now.

Soderbergh, keep these 90 minute bangers coming!!
