Thinking a lot about the super fucked up seagull statue I saw at an antique store today tbh
I mean this in the nicest way possible
What’s his fucking problem
@canisalbus machete. it looks like machete
accidentally typed “trench kiss” instead of “french kiss”. anyone wanna hold hands and kiss in a muddy hole full of rats as bullets and grenades and artillerary shells fly over our heads?
rainsnap asked: I have a dachshund and one day she looked at me with the sun behind her and her ears were glowing from the backlight. It made me want to draw a picture of Vasco that way! So here’s my best attempt at capturing the halo ear effect that occurred. Bonus: Vasco as a candy corn because his colors made me think of candy corn.

limelemonchi asked: doodled your little guys!!! I have so many thoughts about them. As someone who lives in Italy it has been absolutely wonderful seeing your characters express the country's culture and history!!! It's not often that I see characters be based off Italian history in such an artistic manner.. But that might be me living under a rock, LOL. Anyhow, keep doing what you do, YOU ROCK!!!!

Anonymous asked: Hello!! I am currently working on a webcomic and I like to add characters I like as little background cameos and I was wondering if you’d be comfortable if your dogs were to ever be featured? Just as a lil background thing that you’d only really notice if you were to be actively looking for them
And to clarify, I am not making any money off of this webcomic so don’t worry about me stealing ur dogs to make a profit or anything.
Oh that sounds fun, I’d be honored! If you end up putting them in there at some point, please let me know so I can take a look!
tallgayclownboy asked: Dear Gay Dog Manufacturer, what are your opinions on the majestic and mythical Borzoi?
Cool dogs. Tall, flat, long and immeasurably soft, petting them is like touching the silken curls of a cherub.
The ones I’ve met have been pleasant, albeit shy fellows. Very quiet and discreet for their size.
Would love to have one of my own someday.
Anonymous asked: I can't quite remember if you did this with the suggestive posts that got taken down but, perhaps you should try not to tag those as canines, dogs, animals, sighthound etc?
This can only be happening because people are purposefully reporting these things when they find them. You could try adding as little tags as possible.
Personally I tag as cw suggestive and my art, as well as ship names, and that's it really. This makes it so that your own audience can find it in your blog, but really no one who isn't a follower of yours or knows about you can find it.
Genuinely I hope this helps because I adore your art so much and it hurts to see such tame things get taken down. Otherwise I'd just post in another website, highly recommend Bsky

Ah dang, I think you might have a point there. My online circles are so pro-furry or at least benignly indifferent towards anthro art, I had kind of forgotten that some people consider it so deeply off-putting and offensive. Even very tepid, mildly suggestive pieces, even completely sfw art.
I’ve had the habit of tagging my posts systemically and carefully since the beginning, mostly for personal organization purposes, it makes it slightly easier to dig up specific things from the the extensive archive of my blog. It didn’t even cross my mind that it could potentially lead to this sort of result. I’ll use fewer tags from now on and see if it improves anything.
rattlesnakebi asked: Your more recent post about your older artwork made me remember why I followed you. I’ve been on this website for around 15 years (yikes!) with pretty much the same blog and I just kind of accepted it as a fact of life that I follow the miserable gay catholic dog blog. For years it’s been a mystery to me, I couldn’t remember actively following you or when Machete and Vasco started showing up on my dash. Now it’s solved!
Also I always love those boys, they’re so fashionable and so Shaped™️.
I’m cackling at the idea of you painstakingly wading through the endless gay catholic dog posts on your dash, year after year, not quite knowing how they got there, and yet not unfollowing. Thank you for putting up with me, I appreciate it :’>
pouletpourrisoldblog asked: hey there!! i'd been checking this blog for a while, and I really wanted to say you're a great source of inspiration haha! I really love your dog characters and your lore! The amount of research and dedication is really amazing!!
about ludovica's gf, do you mind if I come in with my vision as well? I think she'd be a really fluffy dog, maybe with curly hair. so my mind went to the portuguese water dog; but then i thought of two versions: long hair and short hair. so i drew both
(tried my best to make her look like a lady and not a grandpa haha)

Anonymous asked: I just wanted to say that I hope I can one day have the confidence to go off anon and genuinely thank you for creating these characters and drawing them. Drawing them in love, drawing them content, drawing them scared, drawing their dread and their fears. The way you drawn them together is so fuckin gentle and soft, it’s the definition of human touch to me.
How different their bodies must be yet how they fit so perfectly with each other, it’s so beautiful and tender. I show it to my friends cause of how much I want to achieve that one day. I love the coloring choices you pick for their symbolic or religious art, for their raw emotional art, I’m extremely in love with all this and I’m so glad I stumbled upon your blog all because I saw two gay dogs on my dash and decided to follow.
You draw very good :D
It’s the responses like this that keep me going. Thank you so much for taking the time to tell me all of this, you’ve made me feel like I’m doing something right with my life ´v`
I hope you have a wonderful weekend! ♥
Anonymous asked: Re Machete's eating habits:
I don't personally have religious trauma but I did find it relatable as a disabled person. In my experience it definitely can be a way to feel like you have control over a body that otherwise seems to fight you on everything. Plus eating can be difficult when everything hurts.
Yeah, that makes sense. I didn’t even think of it from that angle.
Anonymous asked: Ok I'm also brazilian and do you know that "[person] went to play for Vasco" is an expression in Brazil that means the person died? So yeah Machete played with Vasco and later went to play for Vasco.
.
Anonymous asked: I hope this isn't too personal I'm sharing this on a "isn't religious trauma fascinating" basis: i had a revelation from my sibling recently when talking about my religious trauma (forced excessive church attendance to correct being a depressed bisexual teen) that part of the problem was that at that point in her life, my mom was convinced from how her hillbilly baptist parents raised her in the faith that if you accidentally sinned in the middle of the day and something happened and you died before you could ask forgiveness you'd go immediately to hell. and the anxiety of that mindset just saturated her entire life.
and I was thinking about that while reading about machete and his eating habits. I really feel for the guy.
I think maybe he understands that same mindset all too well.
