I appreciate the hard work you have been putting in but is it possible you can slow up a bit with creating an article for every player on the roster? Some of them didn't even make it past rookie minicamp and won't make it out of training camp (Lanier Coleman, for example, has been bounced around since 2009 and has yet to latch on anywhere as of yet). Unless they have had a considerably notable collegiate career, it's best to wait on creating an article for them until they actually make the opening day roster. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 02:02, 15 May 2013 (UTC)Reply

Hello, several of your new articles were filed in WP:UNCAT because you did not include a WP:Category for them. Please do include cats in the future, as not doing so makes your article hard to find and makes more work for the cleanup crew. Hello,

I'm writing again to express my concerns. While your contributions are indeed appreciated, the rate with which you are creating articles that are non-notable is alarming. Players such as Patrick Scales, Roosevelt Holliday (who was released a mere days after being signed), Jeffrey Shugarts, and others who you have created articles for the New York Jets team do not meet WP:Athlete. I'm asking you to please be a bit more selective when it comes to creating articles. Thank you. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 22:59, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply

I see that you've still been creating articles about New York Jets players who don't meet WP:ATHLETE after The Writer 2.0 left you the previous message. Administrators' noticeboard thread

edit

Hi Pmaster12. This is to let you know that I've opened a thread at the administrators' noticeboard asking for advice about some of your football biographies. Have a read through it and feel free to post there as well. If you're not familiar with any of the jargon I've used just ask me on my talk page and I'll explain it. (Also, Wikipedia:Glossary might be helpful.) Best — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 05:40, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I've closed the thread down now, as I got the advice I was looking for, and the administrators' noticeboard isn't the place for deciding content decisions such as whether to delete articles or not (that's what articles for deletion and deletion review are for). I did notice your post about readers wanting to read about "a certain individual that they admire", though. I see where you're coming from here, but unfortunately this kind of argument doesn't usually carry too much weight in deletion discussions. See the essay "arguments to avoid in deletion discussions", and especially the section on "it contains valuable information" for the general attitudes towards this.

There are many different views about the deletion of articles, and you are not alone in wanting borderline ones to be kept. However, for better or worse, we as a community have worked out guidelines about what to keep and what to delete, and those guidelines can't be overruled by any one editor. In this case the guideline is WP:ATHLETE - if you can prove that the pages you've created have passed this guideline, then we can keep them with no problem, If they don't, then they will most likely deleted. That is just the way this community works, I'm afraid. Even if your articles get deleted, though, you can still put them on another wiki or on a blog, etc., so they don't have to be gone for good. If you have any questions about any of this, please feel free to ask. — Mr. Stradivarius ♪ talk ♪ 20:14, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

I just wanted to respond to your comments at ANI just to gain some closure on this matter. I can understand your point of view but, having an admiration for an individual is not a sufficient reason to create an article. Just because they're not on Wikipedia doesn't mean you can't read up about them elsewhere—nor should you or anyone else feel limited to using Wikipedia to find information about anyone or anything. There's a reason why this project does not have articles for everything and everyone.

The reason this has gained more attention now is because you had not responded until now. I left you two messages on your talkpage, one on May 15 and another on July 27, and allowed for time to pass for you to respond but you never did so I was never aware of your stance or why you had continued to create these articles until today. Mr. Stradivarius was kind enough to approach me after I expressed my concerns about the articles (For the record, 29 other teams do not have biographies for all their players) and suggested a forum at ANI. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 21:43, 6 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Even locally, they wouldn't find everything on Wikipedia anyway but that's neither here nor there. I understand there's more articles on here, even beyond football, that could be of questionable notability but don't forget, I'm not on here 24/7 nor do I have any desire to be—every editor, yourself included, can only handle so much but if I see a trend on my particular Watchlist, I'm not going to let it slide—but I can't watch every page either. And for whatever it's worth, I wasn't trying to single you out because I have seen you do some good work on here but rather provide some guidance in regards to the policies in place. -- The Writer 2.0 Talk 00:08, 7 August 2013 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Katlynn Smith

edit

The article Katlynn Smith has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Weakly sourced promotional article fails WP:MUSIC and WP:ENT

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Non-free content

edit

Hi,

I've tagged the NFL player photos you have uploaded for deletion because non-free content must meet all the non-free content criteria. In the case of the three photos you have uploaded, they clearly fail WP:NFCC#1, no free equivalent. All of the images you used were replacing existing free images. They also fail WP:NFCC#2, respect for commercial opportunity. Two of the images are from USA Today, and another from US PRESSWIRE (which is also USA Today I think). These companies are in the business of making money from these images. Please ensure that any further use of non-free content meets the criteria. Regards. -- Whpq (talk) 14:07, 9 June 2016 (UTC)Reply

You posted on my talk page "Thank, I must have missed something. Pmaster12 (talk) 17:26, 9 June 2016 (UTC) Do you know how to correct this? Pmaster12 (talk) 17:30, 9 June 2016 (UTC)"
I am not sure what you mean by "Do you know how to correct this?" If you meant how to undo the addition of the non-compliant non-free images, then that has already been done. I've reverted your edits in the articles where the images were added, and an administrator has deleted the files. If you meant to ask how to get those files on Wikipedia, then the answer is "you can't." They don't comply with policy nor can they be made somehow to conform to policy. They simply can't be used. I appreciate the work you've been doing to add information about highlights to players' articles, but please be careful to avoid excessive capitalization like this. July 6

edit

Thanks for correcting premature updates on NBA deals. Minor critique on your hidden comment is that deals won't be completed at least until July 6—some teams might wait until even later to complete them. Cheers.—Bagumba (talk) 07:46, 4 July 2019 (UTC)Reply

Proposed deletion of Trey Gilleo

edit

The article Trey Gilleo has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Fails WP:GNG and WP:NGRIDIRON.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
