Rino Serri
[edit]Thanks for translating thearticle on Rino Serri. Pleasedo more such articles--and it might help if I gave you some advice for the best way to do such translations: 1. Be sure to make a link to the original wiki on the talk page of the translated article, and also to add the linkage to the list of Languages in the left hand column. 2. Do not rely on Google translate to get the grammar right. it is especially poor with getting the English tenses in the correct idiomatic form. In particular, in translating from Italian, (and Spanish , and Portuguese) remember that we do not normally use the present tense in describing historical events in the past,. 3. Do not rely on Google translate to get yhe names of organizations and other institutions and people in the correct enWP form. The best way to find them is to look for the original language WP article on the subject, and see what is the equivalent English article. That way, the English article can have links to the proper English WP articles. I did most of this for you in the opresent article DGG ( talk ) 01:53, 13 August 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Frank Adonis, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Brian Gibson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Speedy deletion nomination of Alana Filippi
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Alana Filippi requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.
If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Jerod Lycett (talk) 21:10, 16 January 2020 (UTC)
The article Alana Filippi has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
An obit does not show significance nor notability. No other sources exist beyond the two obits that I could find.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Jerod Lycett (talk) 23:21, 16 January 2020 (UTC)

Jean Leber
[edit]Hi Jmanlucas, I have updated Jean Leber and changed the birth year from 1949 to 1939 based on the ref/cit. Can you confirm on 1939 because the French wikipedia still uses 1949. Also, where did he die? A city in France? Thanks, SWP13 (talk) 02:53, 23 March 2020 (UTC)
- Thank you, SWP13 for bringing this to my attention. It appears as though French Wikipedia incorrectly cited the birth year as 1949, but according to France Musique and the book D’un coup d’archet… Entretiens avec Jean Leber, he was born in 1939. Because Wikipedia is based entirely off of other sources, I would trust the France Musique article and the book over French Wikipedia. However, I was unable to find a place of birth or death after some research into the interviews of the book or after a Google search. Thank you for your edits and for improving the Jean Leber article. -Jmanlucas (talk) 03:35, 23 March 2020 (UTC)

[edit]Hallo, Please remember to add {{reflist}} in the "References" section: I've added it in several stubs you've recently created, while stub-sorting.
You could also enhance these articles by using {{L}} - you can add the "DEFAULTSORT" and the birth and death categories in just one line of typing, such as {{subst:L|1959|2020|Kassey, Moussa Seybou}}
. (If the person is still alive, leaving the death date empty creates the Category:Living people).

Since the 1970s, Gilles Mihalcean is a prominent figure in the sculpture scene of Québec. His work has been shown in several art centres, galleries and museums in Montréal, Canada, the United States and Europe. Throughout his career he has received numerous awards and prestigious grants, including the Victor Martyn Lynch-Staunton (1987), the Jean-Paul Riopelle (2005) and the Prix Paul-Émile-Borduas (2011).

Speedy deletion nomination of Dalila Ennadre
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Dalila Ennadre requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://fataldeaths.com/2020/Dalila-Ennadre. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.
If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
ToeFungii (talk) 07:17, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
With all due respect, ToeFungii, I believe you have the order of direct copying wrong. I wrote the Dalila Ennadre article yesterday in my own words based off of a translation from the French Wikipedia article. I was unaware of this fataldeaths.com website until today, and it seems to be copied directly from the article I wrote. Perhaps we should look at the website’s history and see if they have a pattern of copying from Wikipedia articles, and then see if we can justifiably make copyright accusations. Jmanlucas (talk) 17:02, 17 May 2020 (UTC)
First, I apologize but had no way of knowing which was the chicken and which was the egg. And they appear to copy a lot of wikipedia articles as I've found/checked 3 different recently deceased and gotten better than 98% match using the copyvio tool earwig. I've looked at the site to try and find some info but it has none that I've been able to see. To the best of my knowledge there's nothing that prevents them from copying WP info so don't think there's anything that can be done. I think I recall that you do a lot of BLP pages so you might want to put in an edit summary when creating the page that it's likely to be copied to stop someone else from tagging your articles. I'm just amazed how fast they can put them out there, but I'm guessing they've got a bot or something that populates the stuff. Thanks for your work. ToeFungii (talk) 04:46, 18 May 2020 (UTC)

I see that the article is identical to [1]. The text is obviously not older than two days. Could you please explain what is the relation between the texts: ate you the author of both, or was that text copied from our Wikipedia article, or perhaps you have copied it from there to Wikipedia (I hope that the last option is not the case here). Hello, Ymblanter. If you look previously on my discussion page, you can see that fatal deaths also copied an article I had written, Dalila Ennadre. I can assure you that this website has been copying articles that I have written, and not vice versa. As you can see, the layout of this website is the exact same as that of Wikipedia. If there is anything I can do to better protect my articles from plagiarism, let me know. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. Speedy deletion nomination of Claude Ndam
[edit]Hello Jmanlucas,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Claude Ndam for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Disambiguation link notification for August 2
[edit]Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Deaths in 2020, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page MEP. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

[edit]Hallo, Thank you for creating Joe Norton (politician). When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie Joe Norton ), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find your article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 09:52, 16 August 2020 (UTC) ]].

I'm surprised.
[edit]Hi. I'm surprised that you suddenly think a Facebook page with the title "Jean Martin" is a reliable source. Facebook in general is certainly not reliable, as has been established many times in the past, and there is no way of telling whether the page called "Jean Martin" is an official account or an impersonation account. Therefore, I've reverted the entry to Deaths in 2020 until such time as a properly reliable source becomes available. Thanks. Ref (chew)(do) 04:53, 8 October 2020 (UTC)

WikiProject assessment tags for talk pages
[edit]Thank you for your recent articles, including Simon Gutman, which I read with interest. When you create a new article, can you add the WikiProject assessment templates to the talk of that article? See the talk page of the article I mentioned for an example of what I mean. Usually it is very simple, you just add something like {{WikiProject Keyword}} to the article's talk, with keyword replaced by the associated WikiProject (ex. if it's a biography article, you would use WikiProject Biography; if it's a United States article, you would use WikiProject United States, and so on). You do not have to rate the article if you do not want to, others will do it eventually. Those templates are very useful, as they bring the articles to a WikiProject attention, and allow them to start tracking the articles through Wikipedia:Article alerts and other tools. For example, WikiProject Poland relies on such templates to generate listings such as Article Alerts, Popular Pages, Quality and Importance Matrix and the Cleanup Listing. Thanks to them, WikiProject members are more easily able to defend your work from deletion, or simply help try to improve it further. Feel free to ask me any questions if you'd like more information about using those talk page templates. Piotr Konieczny aka Prokonsul Piotrus| reply here 04:25, 21 October 2020 (UTC)
Paul-Jean Hérault
[edit]Hi there, thanks for creating the article Paul-Jean Hérault! Just a quick question though, is it a translation of the French version of the page, fr:Paul-Jean Hérault? If it is, could you add a {{translated page}} tag to its talk page, because per WP:TFOLWP, when translating content from another language Wikipedia, this needs to be attributed. If you need any help with that, leave a message on my talk page. Thanks! Seagull123 Φ 21:47, 28 October 2020 (UTC)

Hi there. I see you're quite prolific when it comes to creating new articles. Good work! Please be aware of WP:OVERLINK which says to not link "names of subjects with which most readers will be at least somewhat familiar", for example countries like Canada, Italy, etc. Kind regards, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:40, 11 February 2021 (UTC)
- Same goes for "Italian", "French" etc. WP:OVERLINK mentions "nationalities and ethnicities". Robby.is.on (talk) 01:15, 16 August 2021 (UTC)
- Again, please do not link "France". Robby.is.on (talk) 23:25, 4 January 2022 (UTC)
- Hi, Robby.is.on, to avoid WP:OVERLINK cases, I have used the names of former existing governments, such as the French Third Republic, and written them as such: France. Would this still be considered an overlink or am I free to format links in this manner? Thanks!Jmanlucas (talk) 03:50, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- Yes, it would. Linking France that way also isn't very transparent; see WP:EASTEREGG. Robby.is.on (talk) 09:37, 5 January 2022 (UTC)
- You're still doing it. Could you please stop? Robby.is.on (talk) 10:57, 24 January 2022 (UTC)
- Robby.is.on, while I do understand your previous comments and how I must take WP:OVERLINK into regard, I am not quite sure where this is one is coming from. In my judgment, I feel as though most readers would not be familiar with a term such as Kingdom of Italy or French Fourth Republic. Unless an individual was particularly knowledgeable on 20th Century history, the provisions outlined in WP:OVERLINK leave some room for interpretation and an editor's reasoning, as noted in the phrase "try to be conscious of your own demographic biases – what is well known in your age group, line of work, or country may be less known in others". Therefore, I do not feel it is necessary for me to cease linking a page in this manner, as it is quite different than simply linking the countries Italy or France themselves. Only for individuals born after 1946 or 1958, respectively, would I avoid linking Italy or France, as those years established the two republics as we know them today. This is simply my opinion and I would love to hear feedback from you on this issue. However, if we still find ourselves in disagreement, I can assure you such links will be put to a stop. Any personal conviction I have on this issue is not worth any form of dispute and is not that big of a deal. Best, Jmanlucas (talk) 00:21, 25 January 2022 (UTC).
- Thanks for the explanation, Jmanlucas. I agree with your reasoning and I want to apologise. I had recently seen lots of links for France after 1958 in articles you created but it turns out that these links were added by an IP editor after you created the articles. I didn't check for that possibility and I regret that. Happy editing and keep up the good work, Robby.is.on (talk) 09:10, 25 January 2022 (UTC)

- Again, please do not link "France". Robby.is.on (talk) 23:25, 4 January 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Pepi Merisio
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Pepi Merisio requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://www.tumbral.com/tag/Pepi%20Merisio.
Onel5969 TT me 13:58, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Onel5969: (nominator) Jimfbleak (remover), the indicated website (https://www.tumbral.com/tag/Pepi%20Merisio) is a mirror website, so it copies content of Wikipedia, so can the deletion be made undone? SportsOlympic (talk) 14:27, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Onel5969:. Hello, Onel. Unfortunately, this page was deleted within one hour of the speedy deletion nomination. I do not believe that this post deserved to be deleted by any means. The Instagram post in question was posted two days after the article was originally created. I can assure you that I do not plagiarize or infringe upon copyrights. The article was simply copied and pasted onto an Instagram post, which I had no idea existed until this was brought to my attention. Thanks! Jmanlucas (talk) 14:30, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- Jmanlucas, and SportsOlympic - I have no way of discerning if that is a mirror or not. Regardless, if Jimfbleak takes a look and agrees, I'm sure they'll restore it. I definitely thought it out of character for you, Jmanlucas. Onel5969 TT me 14:51, 1 March 2021 (UTC)
- @Onel5969: No worries! I appreciate your constructive work as an editor and it is certainly important to investigate any instance of potential copyright infringement. Have a good week, Onel. -Jmanlucas (talk) 15:38, 1 March 2021 (UTC)

[edit]Hallo, Thank you for creating Ralph Erskine (cryptologist). When you create an article like this with a "disambiguated" title, please make sure that the reader can find it from the basic name (ie Ralph Erskine), by adding or expanding a hatnote, or adding the article to a disambiguation page. This helps the reader to find your article, and also reduces the chance of a future careless editor creating a duplicate article with a slightly different disambiguator. I've fixed this one. Thanks, and Happy Editing. PamD 19:02, 20 April 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Patrick Verbeke
[edit]Hello, Jmanlucas,
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username John B123 and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I have tagged an article that you started, Patrick Verbeke, for deletion, because a consensus decision previously decided that it wasn't suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. If you wish to restore a page deleted via a deletion discussion, please use the deletion review process instead, rather than reposting the content of the page.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion but please don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top. If the page is already deleted by the time you come across this message and you wish to retrieve the deleted material, please contact the deleting administrator.
For any further query, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|John B123}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

The article Achmad Rizal Zakaria has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Deputy mayor is not a notable position
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Mccapra (talk) 20:34, 20 October 2021 (UTC)

Your contributed article, Smart Worachat
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Smart Worachat. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Chalard Worachat. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Chalard Worachat. If you have new information to add, you might want to discuss it at the article's talk page.
If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. Paul_012 (talk) 21:55, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
Using Google Translate
[edit]Sorry for asking bluntly, but does it really not occur to most people that you can't use Google Translate to figure out how a person's name is written in English? At best it will spit out a garbled spelling that's nowhere near the actual name. At worst, as with Chalard Worachat, it messes up the name so badly and outputs a completely different meaning because it has no ability to recognise proper nouns. I've come across quite a few cases of this lately. Is there some page or feature on Wikipedia suggesting that editors do this (use machine translations)? If so, we'll know where the mistake is that needs to be fixed. --Paul_012 (talk) 22:07, 15 December 2021 (UTC)
- Hi, Paul_012. I must admit, and I am quite embarrassed to do so, but this may be my worst blunder in my six years as a Wikipedian. Typically, I check the Wikidata element for any biography that may have an article in English. If not, I double-check to make sure the article meets Wikipedia's guidelines for notability. For an individual whose native language is not written using the Latin alphabet, I can often find the proper spelling in Wikidata. In the case of Chalard Worachat, the English page was not linked to Wikidata, so I had no way of knowing if such an article already existed. Additionally, no spelling was suggested in Wikidata. When I pressed the "translate page" button on Google Chrome, the individual's name was written "Smart Worachat". Still, I wanted to check to make sure that this was the proper translation of his name and Google searched "Smart Worachat", and found this article: https://www.newsdirectory3.com/police-lieutenant-smart-worachat-nicknamed-jormoth-a-famous-political-activist-has-died/. It is now apparent that this was clearly not sufficient in finding a proper Latin-alphabet spelling for Worachat's name, and for that I apologize. I appreciate you letting me know and speaking what you feel; I take this type of constructive criticism thankfully. I hope this explanation helps and I can assure you that I have never been suggested to do this by any Wikipedia page or feature and this error is a fluke amongst the thousands of biographies I have successfully translated on Wikipedia. Best, Jmanlucas (talk) 04:46, 16 December 2021 (UTC)
- Thanks for the detailed response. Please don't worry too much; it happens to us all. I was a bit exasperated in my original post as there seems to be an increasing trend (not only on Wikipedia) of errors like this happening. As Google Translate gets better and people feel more comfortable using it, I'm worried that the collective community may be losing better judgment and forgetting to exercise caution with it. This is compounded by the proliferation of Google-Translated Wikipedia mirrors and junk websites that contain fake Google-Translated articles (like the one you found), and suddenly the web is polluted by nonsensical mistranslations that become so common that people can easily make the mistake of believing them. There's a clear need to raise awareness over the issue, at least among Wikipedia editors, but I'm not quite sure how this could be done. --Paul_012 (talk) 09:30, 16 December 2021 (UTC)

- Hi, Onel5969, my first assumption when seeing the speedy deletion headline was that a page I had written had failed to meet Wikipedia's notability guidelines. However, I was somewhat more surprised to read that the nomination was due to copyright infringement. Reading from the page funeralnearme.com, it appears as though the obituaries posted there are simply copied and pastedd from Wikipedia, not the other way around. Another page I have written, Jaime Serra (politician), falls in the same boat. The page was deleted by Jimfbleak before I was given a chance to respond, although I believe it should be restored given the fact that copyright infringement was not at play here. This has happened to pages I have written on multiple occasions and I think we should compare when the Wikipedia article was written versus when it was copied online; that would solve some of these cases.Jmanlucas (talk) 21:24, 10 February 2022 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination of Bernard Dewulf
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Bernard Dewulf requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from https://muntpunt.bibliotheek.be/en/catalog/bernard-dewulf/waar-de-egel-gaat-gedichten/book/library-marc-vlacc_1513094.
The article Shigemasa Igawa has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
Can't find any in-depth coverage of this local politician to satisfy WP:GNG, and small town mayors don't pass WP:NPOL.
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Onel5969 TT me 14:47, 22 February 2022 (UTC)
Mohamed Haddou Chiguer and Abderrahim Berrada
[edit]Something has gone wrong with the lifespan (dates) at the start of these articles. As you created these articles, I thought it might be worth a look from you. I would have changed them myself, but not sure what needs changing (i.e. on the editing pages). Editrite! (talk) 07:41, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
Ahh I see what you mean. For whatever reason, when writing a page on an individual whose native name is Semitic and does not have a specific date, it flips around the birth and death dates. I’m not quite sure how to fix this but when not editing the page, it appears to be fine. Let me know if you have any suggestions. Jmanlucas (talk) 22:45, 26 February 2022 (UTC) Jmanlucas (talk) 22:45, 26 February 2022 (UTC)
- As you say, the editing pages appear to be correct, but the actual articles aren't. I tried experimenting with an idea, and it almost worked, that is to say it corrected the date order but also included unwanted brackets. What I tried was to put the "lang-ar" immediately after the Arabic instead of before, but was unable to move the short vertical straight line separating (not sure what it's called) and I think that may be the reason it didn't quite work. Contest speedy deletion
[edit]I am not sure which part of the linked website is considered to be plagiarized? Reading through the website, I could not find a section in which the text in the article matches the text in the link. Perhaps Jimfbleak could take a look but it seems unclear to me. Jmanlucas (talk) 15:38, 24 February 2022 (UTC)
- I've moved this here because we can't have a talk page without an article. I can't now see the copyright violation, which is odd because I checked it and ran Earwig before deleting. I think there are some problems anyway.
- I'm not clear what his claim to notability is, there is nothing about awards on anything else. Being a poet and/or a journalist isn't notable in itself, and there is only one reference, his obituary. I don't know if De Standaard is an RS source.
- However, looking at the obit, it appears that he may be notable, he's won awards and stuff. In the absence of a clear copyright violation, I'll restore at Draft:Bernard Dewulf for you to expand. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 16:59, 24 February 2022 (UTC)

Ways to improve Ahmed Touili
[edit]Hello, Jmanlucas,
Thank you for creating Ahmed Touili.
I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:
The references in this article address this person's decease. There is little if any notability in the references about his work as a Tunisian academic. The references do not address the biography of this person.
More sources are needed. Individual sources must be evaluated separately and independently of each other and meet the four criteria below to determine if a source qualifies towards establishing notability.
- Contain significant coverage addressing the subject of the article directly and in depth.
- Be completely independent of the article subject.
- Meet the standard for being a reliable source.
- Be a secondary source; primary and tertiary sources do not count towards establishing notability.
Given the mandatory requirements in WP:NBIO (notability of people),, the references in this article do not address the biography of this person. We don't need material about FARK ceremonies. We need references about this Tunisian academic. Kindly attend to the matters above.
The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|Whiteguru}}

Translating from French
[edit]Hi, I don't know if you use machine translations or not when you translate articles from French, but it looks as if you don't really understand French, which results in factually incorrect articles. I recently moved Draft:Jean-Hervé Stiévenart to draft because way too many facts in it were simply wrong, and I now see Chantal Gallia, where you claim that she was a "caricaturist" and "As a caricaturist, Gallia participated...", while in reality she wasn't a caricaturist at all, but an impersonator. Please, either be a lot more careful when translating articles, or don't attempt to translate them, as it is not acceptable to insert falsehoods into our articles. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.
The article Anatoliy Smirnov has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:
While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.
You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}}
notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.
Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}}
will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Comr Melody Idoghor (talk) 14:09, 19 September 2022 (UTC)

- Hi, I noticed that when creating Adam Zieliński you provided attribution for the translation by placing the {{Translated page}} template on the talk page. Please note that per WP:TFOLWP, attribution must be given in an edit summary on the translated article itself (like I have done here [2]). Placing the {{Translated page}} template on the talk page is optional, but the edit summary (on the article itself, not the talk page) is a requirement. Regards. Speedy deletion nomination of Anatoly Romanchuk
[edit]Hello Jmanlucas,
I wanted to let you know that I just tagged Anatoly Romanchuk for deletion, because the article doesn't clearly indicate why the subject is important enough to be included in an encyclopedia.
If you feel that the article shouldn't be deleted and want more time to work on it, you can contest this deletion, but don't remove the speedy deletion tag from the top.
You can leave a note on my talk page if you have questions. Thanks!

Hello, Jmanlucas
Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username Nagol0929, and I thank you for your contributions.
I wanted to let you know, however, that I’ve proposed an article that you started, Anatoly Romanchuk, for deletion because it's a biography of a living person that lacks references. To prevent the deletion, please add a reference to the article. You may remove the deletion tag yourself once the article has at least one reliable source.
If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|Nagol0929}}
. And, don't forget to sign your reply with ~~~~
. Thanks!

Speedy deletion nomination of Michel Jager
[edit]If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.
You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.
A tag has been placed on Michel Jager requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia.
If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. iMahesh (talk) 15:51, 20 September 2023 (UTC)

Autopatrolled granted
[edit]Hi Jmanlucas, I just wanted to let you know that I have added the autopatrolled user right to your account. This means that pages you create will automatically be marked as 'reviewed', and no longer appear in the new pages feed. Autopatrolled is assigned to prolific creators of articles, where those articles do not require further review, and may have been requested on your behalf by someone else. It doesn't affect how you edit; it is used only to manage the workload of new page patrollers.
Since the articles you create will no longer be systematically reviewed by other editors, it is important that you maintain the high standard you have achieved so far in all your future creations. Please also try to remember to add relevant WikiProject templates, stub tags, categories, and incoming links to them, if you aren't already in the habit; user scripts such as Rater and StubSorter can help with this. As you have already shown that you have a strong grasp of Wikipedia's core content policies, you might also consider volunteering to become a new page patroller yourself, helping to uphold the project's standards and encourage other good faith article writers.
Feel free to leave me a message if you have any questions. Happy editing! Chetsford (talk) 07:43, 2 December 2023 (UTC)
