CARACTERSTICAS
El repetidor y punto de acceso porttil le ayudar a ampliar la cobertura
switch o una computadora, ya que tiene el puerto WAN y otro LAN para usar
ese equipo que no cuenta con tarjeta de red inalmbrica o para configurar
el equipo.

Para una configuracin inalmbrica tpica en el hogar (como se muestra arriba), haga lo
siguiente:
Usted necesita acceso a Internet de banda ancha (a ADSL, lnea de mdem por cable en
su casa u oficina).
Consulte a su proveedor de ADSL o cable mdem para una correcta instalacin del
mdem.
Conecte el ADSL o cable mdem al ruteador COM-818 en la entrada LAN y conecte el
ruteador en la toma de corriente elctrica.
ASISTENTE
Despus de iniciar sesin, d clic en el
men Asistente para una configuracin
rpida de su ruteador.
Elija el Modo de Operacin que requiera:
Ruteador. Modo estndar del Ruteador inalmbrico: Este ruteador se conecta a internet
mediante un puerto WAN, por lo que otros dispositivos pueden conectarse al ruteador
inalmbricamente o conectarse al puerto LAN del ruteador por medio de un cable.
AP. Ruteador tradicional con cable y funcin inalmbrica: Este ruteador puede
conectarse al puerto LAN del ruteador de enlace ascendente con un cable; la terminal
del usuario puede conectarse al ruteador inalmbricamente.
Repetidor. Extiende ampliamente la seal inalmbrica: Este ruteador se puede
conectar ascendentemente al ruteador inalmbricamente; el usuario terminal puede
conectarse al ruteador mediante un cable o inalmbricamente.
ISP inlambrico. Ruteador inalmbrico que se utiliza como puerto WAN: Este ruteador
se puede conectar inalmbricamente al enlace ascendente y al mismo tiempo puede
extender inalmbricamente la seal a otros dispositivos conectados.

Tamao MTU: Los ajustes de la MTU (Unidad Mxima de Transmisin) especifica el tamao
del gran paquete permitido para la transmisin de red. La mayora de los usuarios DSL
deberan usar el valor 1492. Usted puede ajustar manualmente la UMT, y deber dejar el
valor en el rango de 1200 a 1500. Si el valor que usted ajuste no est acorde al valor de su
proveedor, podr causar problemas.

Aqu puede configurar el control de acceso inalmbrico basado en la direccin MAC.
El modo de control de acceso te da 3 opciones: Deshabilitar, Permitir enlistados, Denegar

Es una funcin que permite la interconexin inalmbrica entre ruteadores o puntos de
acceso. De esta manera podremos usar el ruteador como repetidor de otra seal o para
interconectar 2 redes.

Filtro de puertos
Active la filtracin de puerto, introduzca el Rango de puertos que desea controlar.
Haga clic en el botn Aplicar. Observar el Rango de puerto que aparece en la tabla de
filtro actual.
Filtro de IP
El filtrado de IP es un mecanismo que decide qu direcciones IP sern procesadas
normalmente y cules sern descartadas.
Active
la
filtracin
IP,
introduzca la direccin IP que
desea controlar.
Haga clic en el botn
Aplicar.
Observar
las
direccines IP que configur
en la Tabla de filtro actual.

Filtro de MAC
Consiste en que slo se conecten a la red del ruteador las direcciones MAC que usted
quiera.
Active la filtracin MAC,
introduzca la direccin MAC
que desea controlar.
Haga clic en el botn Aplicar.

Filtro de URL
Ayuda a proteger su organizacin contra las amenazas de la web y permite controlar,
supervisar y aplicar polticas de uso aceptable de la web.
Habilite la filtracin
URL,

DMZ abre todos los puertos de una computadora / dispositivo hacia Internet. Debe ser
utilizado nicamente para un propsito en especial, ya que no contar con seguridad en
esta situacin.

HOW TO USE
MODEM

For a typical wireless setup at home (as shown above), do the following:
Youll need broadband Internet access (ADSL, modem line cable in your home or office).
Ask your ADSL or cable modem provider the proper installation of the modem.
Connect the ADSL or cable modem to the COM-818 router on the LAN input and plug the
router into the electrical outlet.
Press RESET to restart the router for 10 seconds.

3. In the list, select the COM-818 wireless network and then click Connect.
4. If requested, enter the security password or network key, and then click OK.
A confirmation message will appear when you are connected to the network.
5. To confirm that you have added the computer, run the following:
Click on Start, Control Panel, then in the search box type network; then click on view
computers and network devices. You should see icons for the computer you added and
those of other computers and devices that are part of the network.
If you dont see icons in the network folder, it is possible that for network discovery and
file sharing are turned off.
3. Open the web browser and type http://192.168.10.253 in the browsers address box.
This number is the IP default address for the router.
WIZARD
After you log in successfully, configure your
router on the Wizard quick menu.
Choose the operating mode you need, and
then click Next.
Router. Standard wireless router mode: This router connects to Internet by WAN port,
and then other terminal devices can connect to this router by wireless connection or
connect to this routers LAN port with a cable.
AP. Traditional wired router realize wireless function: This router can connect to uplink
routers LAN port by wired connection, user terminal can connect to this router by
wireless connection.
Repeater. Extend wireless signal comprehesively: This router can connect to uplink
wireless router by wireless connection, user terminal can connect to this router by wired
or wireless connection.
WISP. Wireless used as WAN port: This router can connect to uplink wireless router by
wireless connection, at the same time, it can extend wireless signal for other devices
connection.

Router mode
Set the wireless parameter. It is recommended to change the name of the SSID, choose
Safe mode and enter a password (key).
If dynamic IP is selected, the router obtains the IP address automatically DHCP server
or ISP. You dont need to configure it and you can continue with the wireless settings.
If you selected PPPoE, enter the user name and password provided by your ISP. These
fields support capital letters.
SSID: Networks name
Channel: Automatic is recommended
Security mode: Configure wireless security and encryption to prevent unauthorized
access.
Click Save and reboot.

AP mode

The SSID of the network destination will appear automatically, type the password and

- IP address: Enter the IP address of your router, the factory preset is: 192.168.10.253.
- Sub network: address code that determines the size of the network. Normally use
255.255.255.0 as the subnet mask.
- Type of DHCP server, client, or disabled.
- If you change the IP address of the LAN must log of the router with the new IP address.
- If the new IP address on the LAN that you set are not on the same subnet, the IP addresses
set from the DHCP server change accordingly at the same time, while Virtual Server and
DMZ Host will not take effect until they have been reconfigured.

MTU: The MTU (Maximum Transmission Unit) setting specifies the largest packet size
permitted for network transmission. Most DSL users should use the value 1492.You can set
the MTU manually, and you should leave this value in the 1200 to 1500 range. If the value
you set is not in accord with the value of your service provider, it may causes problems.
MANAGEMENT
Change the administrator password
COM-818 default password is admin and is displayed in the indicator when accessed
from the web browser. You should change the password to avoid security risks, this is very
important when you have the wireless function enabled.
To change the password, follow these instructions: give click Administration, the following
screen appears:
When you are finished, click Apply; if you want to keep the original password, click on
Reset.

Time zone
Here you can adjust and
save the time zone, and
update the time.
Save file settings: press Save and you will be asked to download the configuration as a file,
can save it with different names for different versions and keep it in a safe place.
Load file settings: press Browse to choose a configuration file previously saved on your
computer and then click on Upload to transfer the file of configuration to the router. Once
the configuration has been loaded, the configuration of the router will be replaced by that file.
Reset to defaults: click on Reset to defaults to remove all the settings made and restore
the router to the factory settings.

Firmware upgrade
The software of the system used by this router is known as firmware, and as with other
applications of the system, when you replace the old application with a new one, your
computer will have new features. You can also use this firmware update function to add
functionality to your router, and even fix the errors.
Click firmware update. The following message will appear on your screen.
Give click on select file, you will be asked the name of the firmware upgrade file. Please,
download the latest firmware from our website and use it in your router.
After choosing a firmware update file, give the router and click on Update will be updated
automatically. This can take several minutes, be patient.
Never close your web browser or disconnect your computer from the router while you are upgrading the
firmware. If the firmware was loaded is corrupt, the update will fail and will have to return it to the supplier
and ask for help. (The warranty is void if you interrupt the update process).
