TALLER
Logistics can be defined as the management of the flow of goods, information and other
resources, energy and people between the point of origin and the point of consumption in order to
meet the requirements of consumers. Logistics involves the integration of information,
transportation, inventory, warehousing, material handling, packaging and security. Logistics may
have an internal focus (inbound logistics), or external focus (outbound logistics). If the company
manufactures a product from parts purchased

from suppliers, and those products are then sold to customers, one can speak about a supply
chain. Supply Chain can be defined as a network of facilities and distribution options that
performs the function of procurement of materials, transformation of these materials into
intermediate and finished products, and the distribution of these finished products to customers.

In general, Logistics is one of the areas of the company, perhaps one of the most important in
charge of managing (goods and services), information, warehouses, transportation, internal
organization, among other activities. Its objective is to place the right products, in the right place,
at the right time and in the desired conditions, contributing as much as possible to the
profitability of the company.
The supply chain comprises the different links that occur in a company, ranging from
unprocessed raw materials to finished products that reach the final consumer. It is the life cycle of
a product or service, from its conception to its consumption. A subsystem within the organization
that includes the planning of the activities of supply, manufacture and distribution of products. In
short, the supply chain encompasses supply and demand, inside and outside the company.
Describe what service providers do in order to increase efficiency of the supply chain.
In addition to everything, suppliers have a very important task in the supply chain and outside
this, their contribution can make the supply chain start well, since it is, they who deliver the raw
material with which the supply will continue. rest of supply chain processes.

3. Read the next text. Then, prepare a presentation in PowerPoint (.ppt) outlining the main
ideas. Check the learning material to develop this presentation. Finally, record yourself on
a video (.mp4) making the presentation.
4. Download, from the complementary material file, the article: How to Compare Six Sig,
Lean thinking and the Theory of Constraints. Then, read it very carefully. After that,
prepare a PowerPoint (.ppt) presentation following the next outline:
