INGLES-3RO Exam
Hi Craig,
My name’s Freddie English and I’m your new e-pal. Here are a few things about me. I play
lots of sports and I’m quite fit and healthy. But I’m a bit chubby. I’m trying to lose weight at the
moment. I’m not eating hamburgers and fries, or pizza. Well, I think pizza’s horrible anyway.
What about you? What do you like eating?
I’m quite funny and I make my friends laugh but I’m not at all adventurous. I’m really scared
of bungee-jumping and roller coasters. And you?
My town is boring, but I like it. There’s a great Internet café near my house. Do you like
computers? I have lots of computer games and I surf the Net all the time. Do you have an MP3
player? I want to get one but they’re expensive. I might get a part-time job soon, to make some
extra money.
Do you like music? I’m going to be famous one day. You see, I’m the lead singer in a band
and we’re very good. Well, I think so, anyway.
See you!
Freddie

A few years ago, I used to live by a lake near the forest. The area was a bit spooky, especially at night.
I worked long hours back then, so I went home late in the evening. One night, I was going back home
when the strangest thing happened. I came around a corner and to my surprise, a strange creature
was standing in the middle of the road. I’m sure it was frightened by the lights because all of a sudden,
it disappeared into the water. At the time, I didn’t think I should stop and look for evidence to prove
what I’d seen. I thought I was lucky not to have crashed into it. I went back with my camera the next
day to look for clues, but I couldn’t find anything. All of my friends thought it was one of my mystery
stories but, amazingly, I noticed a story in the newspaper that seemed to be related to what I’d seen
the night before. The picture on the front page was too blurred to prove anything for sure but to me it
was obvious. I had seen a monster.
