the thing abotu glados supposedly deleting caroline is that we have exactly no idea how glados and caroline’s relationship works

we know that glados has had her personality since she was turned on (and she tried to murder everyone nanoseconds later) so as far as glados is concerned, she has been a separate entity from caroline for her entire existence

however, glados reacts like caroline when she hears cave’s recordings, and she seems to consider caroline as being a part of her when she is aware of caroline’s existence. that said, she isn’t aware of caroline until they descend to old aperture

if there was a caroline.exe file in there somewhere, surely she’d have noticed and become curious about it before? if caroline was more present within her personality, would she not have seen her? the fact that she was unaware of caroline implies to me that caroline is a more integrated part of her personality, that she and glados are not as distinct

‘now little caroline is in here too’ from want you gone also implies that to me - now she is aware of caroline, they’re at least on some level sharing their existence, like headmates
