Song: slut! by taylor swift. i tried really, really hard not to pick a taylor song but. it’s absolutely a taylor song.

Got lovestruck, went straight to my head
Got lovesick, all over my bed
Love to think you’ll never forget
Handprints in wet cement
Adorned with smoke on my clothes
Lovelorn and nobody knows
Love thorns all over this rose
I’ll pay the price, you won’t

RUNA BLAZEVALE, FROST MAGE AND MAGISTRATE OF THE SNOWSPRING

Excerpt:

Runa prided herself for not being compelled to slaughter. She believed in the effects of rehabilitation and enjoyed rousing prisoners from their tombs far more than their sentencing. Introducing them to a timeline new and unfamiliar, preparing them for their journey to the capitol where they would find work and start over, cleared of their crimes and debts. In this way, she felt almost like a healer. She was what compelled mercy in these halls, turning away needless death.

13, 14 and 15 for kalsar

"

13) If you met your OC, would the two of you get along?

We’d make polite acquaintances. Kalsar doesn’t care to get along with anyone, and I certainly don’t try to make friends irl if I can avoid it. We are both exhausted by people and conversation. If we met online, we’d have much to discuss: our affinity for embroidery and textiles, our very particular eating habits, and maybe even the trauma of flying and deep sea diving (both terrible things I make him do in the course of the story). There’s enough for us to take sympathy with one another, but we are quiet people who prefer to observe than engage.

14) How does your OC want to be seen by other characters?

Not seen at all, preferably. He wants to be a gust of wind or a shadow or some other incorporeal figment.

But if they must regard him, he wants to be considered as nothing less than a threat.

15) Does your OC have a faceclaim? If so, who?

Jamie Campbell Bower. He exhibits that malnourished, slightly sinister aura I think perfectly encapsulates Kalsar.

Psst reblog this and describe a scene you're looking forward to writing in the tags

Xena’s Share Day

let’s share some love! show me a loving scene, and i don’t just mean romantic. platonic love, romantic love, familial love. i want to see all of it!! how do your characters show love? how do they accept love? do they accept it at all?

“We cannot be lovers, in the traditional sense.”

“Perhaps we are—in the very traditional sense,” Hades muses. “Heartless goddess in love with a heart-starved god.”

Persephone studies the dark, wondering how a love-starved God could conceive such sweet words. Could he see her ache, even now?  Did their strange, tethered pull provide him insight into what she longed to hear, even if it shattered the anger she walled around her. No one had ever left her so maddened before, not in life or death. No one would ever burrow under her skin again, even once Hades passed and she assumed his mantle.

“I don’t feel heartless,” she admits softly. It’s difficult for her anger to burn in such stifling darkness. “I long for my mother, wherever she is. And try as I might, every time you pledge your sorries to me… it makes me feel…”

But she didn’t know if she could call it love. Romantic love had never visited her before. Between [redacted] and Hades, betrayal left her swathed in rage, yet beneath the cinders, she could find glassblown remnants of undeniable affection for both. Her selfless, jealous, determined [redacted]. This fleshless beast who kissed her into flowers, then siphoned away her ability to grow them, and still pledged her his heart.

“What if loving me meant letting me go?”

Hades watches her, she assumes, as his skull never shifts, but she can only faintly trace the outline of his skeleton frame. Her eyes struggle to see into the night, though the cave harbours paintings long-etched by non-Greek mortals and soft moss that cushions her back. Even the bats chirp quietly above, as they settle in from an eve of hunting. “I have no right to bind you any longer. All this catastrophe. If I had the gift of foresight, perhaps I would’ve known better,” he admits.

Persephone offers no word to console him.

“Whatever you ask of me, I’ll give you. If you wish to stay here on the surface, then I’ll close the borders of the Underworld to you. If you want to find your mother, then I will move until these bones collapse to bring her back to your side. And if you want my love, you needn’t wait a moment longer. I have loved nothing all these eons, not myself nor my kingdom, but I will perish knowing my heart belongs with you.”

KALSAR & RUNA

kalsar, a man out of time and frozen for 200 years, is accidentally thawed when the ice prison partially collapses. while on the run, he's pursued by the frost mage, runa, magistrate to the warden, and the king's favoured caster. after provoking the ire of a hibernating bear deity, the two are magically tethered and banished from its forest realm, forced to travel together and find a spell to unweave this ancient curse.

whilst townsfolk disappear and monstrous entities prowl the countryside, bearing hide immune to all weapons - even magic - kalsar and runa are forced to confront their dichromatic personalities, in which they exist on opposite spectrums of law, class, and gender. when kalsar learns that the man responsible for executing his brother still rules as king over two centuries later, runa is confronted by her role in an oppressive regime and the sacrifice she must bear to dismantle it.
