Real beauty campaign

To celebrate the 20th anniversary of Real Beauty, Dove aimed to inspire women to feel more positive about their appearance and to broaden the definition of beauty in our society. We decided to create a campaign to transform the fear of wrinkles into a reminder of joy.

Dove. Vogue, 2005. This ad fulfills the self- esteem concept. It is made to make the person viewing the ad feel better about themselves by showing them that everyone is beautiful in their own way.

Dove released their pioneering ad, Campaign for Real Beauty 20 years ago. Today, Dove is launching their new campaign ‘The Code’, with a pledge to never use AI to represent real women in any of their advertisements. While many companies aimed towards females use models who don't represent the majority of women - whether that be in size, ethnicity, age, etc. - Dove's "Real Beauty" campaign uses real women (never models) to show that beauty comes in many forms. I personally like this because it's refreshing and sets Dove apart as a company.

Dove, 2004, “The Real Beauty” campaign - was based on the relationship women have with beauty and understanding the customer's definition of beauty, levels of satisfaction with beauty, the impact of beauty on self-esteem. The campaign stimulated discussion and debate and women voiced their opinions on the Dove Campaign for Real Beauty Web site and Facebook group. Engagement with other women and Dove's experts, and with brand advocates furnished Dove with a listening post.
