So many people do not understand the relationship between climate change and cold weather.

If you see this post it is important to send it to someone else so they too can understand

People hardly ever change their minds in front of you...the conversation becomes one of a series of slow drips that builds up to a realization

Reblog if you remember this movie! It's criminal that no one talks about it anymore.

my card declined in therapy so they reminded me that delores probably has qualities of each of five’s siblings because he imagined her entire personality out of desperation for human contact and all he ever knew before he disappeared was the academy

delores has luther’s loyalty. she absolutely has diego’s stubbornness. she’s definitely got allison’s determination and klaus’ spontaneity. she has ben’s kind-heartedness and viktor’s passion.

i can’t imagine seeing each of his siblings again and being reminded of the only soul he had through the hardest part of his life in each and every way they act.

I have been thinking about the Kamala ask anon these past few days. And it has been making me sad, because I do see that sentiment quite frequently in leftist spaces.

The "they will NEVER move to help Palestine" portion, I mean. I understand where that feeling of hopelessness comes from, and it is also based in realism.

But that doesn't mean we get to stop trying.

Maybe they never will call for a ceasefire, reduce arms sales, or place an arms embargo. Perhaps that is the case. It probably is. But you and I and many of the people reading this come from a profound place of privilege: We have the option to continue to push for it.

I think we owe it to the people in Palestine to endlessly exhaust all the options we have on this side of the ocean. If that means endlessly protesting and banging on doors and demanding our representatives to take action, I think we owe it to our siblings in Palestine to keep trying. Even if we think it's futile, even if everyone is telling us it's not worth it, we absolutely must keep trying because we owe it to them to keep trying.

Urgent need for help

I hope you take a minute to read my story and help me.

Hello, I’m Ghada, the mother of the two children, Ahmed and Adam

I was left from Gaza to receive treatment in Egypt.

After 7 October my home was destroyed and we lost everything we have

Five years ago, I had a stroke in the left foot during childbirth. I still suffer from pain until this time. During the diagnosis, it was discovered that I have a genetic factor that causes blood clots and needed lifelong treatment.

For my son Ahmed, he is seven years old, he was diagnosed with electrical charges in the brain and because of that he suffers from excessive movement and distraction.

I hope you help me and support for treatment needs (for analysis and radiology).

On the other side I also need living needs of living in Egypt ,and the cost of rent the apartment and studying needs for my sons .

🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️ GOOD queer news for the TL: a bunch of students across the U.S. are using grants to make their schools more welcoming for LGBTQ+ youth

Queer students deserve to feel safe at school! We're in our third year of giving grants to put the power in their hands to make their schools more welcoming - students know what they need most in their own communities and their own schools.

Through 50 States, 50 Grants, 5,000 Voices, we've awarded over $1.5 million in grants across the U.S. to support student-led projects. Our third season has some of the most badass projects yet, like these:

❤️ “With this grant, we’ll establish an LGBTQIA+ community space in the library, open to all students, with guest speakers, arts and crafts, LGBTQIA+ books and literature, and LGBTQIA+-specific resources.” - Pocatello, Idaho

🧡 “Our project aims to support LGBTQ+ students through teacher training, development of gender-neutral bathroom protocols, and the organization of a district-wide Queer Prom.” - Gypsum, Colorado

💛 “We’ll take students from the 3 middle schools and our local high school to Honolulu Pride to make local LGBTQ+ friends, feel accepted in a large group, and see the community beyond just school.” - Ewa Beach, Hawai'i

💚 “We’re going to increase access to queer literature by working with a local nonprofit to expand our school’s collection, host storytelling events, and foster community connection." - Mobile, Alabama

💙 “Our plan is to create new Inclusivity Zones across the state in critical areas for local GSA clubs to meet, plan shared events, and be their own safe space.” - Charleston, West Virginia

💜 “We’ll host the Rainbow Youth Summit for LGBTQIA+ youth from across southern California to network, learn, and have fun in a safe, judgement free and supportive environment.” - Cathedral City, California

These students are truly the definition of making things better - you can see the rest of the amazing projects lined up across the country on our blog here!

“So if little girls experience their menstrual cycle in 5th grade or 4th grade, will that prohibit conversations from them since they are in the grade lower than sixth grade?” asked state Rep. Ashley Gantt, a Democrat who taught in public schools and noted that girls as young as 10 can begin having periods.
“It would,” McClain responded.

Unbelievable. Link to article.

The first ever suicide prevention hotline was created in 1935 bevause a man conducted a funeral for a 14 year old girl who ended her life because she got her period. She didn't know what it was and assumed it was a STD. Learning about periods and sexual health is life saving. Republicans are unapologetically just evil.

You know, here's a thing: I went to Catholic school from age 5 to age 16. (My family's not Christian, but the local public schools weren't great, so -- )

In 4th grade, girls were given a clear, scientific, extremely bland pamphlet about menstruation. It was Boring and Educational. There wasn't any class about it or anything -- just the pamphlet, provided in a plain manila envelope for you to take home.

Starting in 5th grade, the school provided a small pack of pads to girls. This was probably so that anyone who unexpectedly started her period at school would have an emergency supply, but the thing was: this boring pamphlet, this pack of pads handed to you by a nun, made menstruation...so normal. It's so normal that a nun hands you a pack of pads. It's so normal that there's a boring pamphlet. It's just a thing your body does. (It's so normal that you realize, oh, nuns have periods, huh.)

It kills me, KILLS ME, that this totally boring and bland form of education about human bodies is somehow Too Much, Too Scary, Too Sexy, for some people.

Okay, I take back my original “how I wanted TUA to end” that I made a week ago and instead I want this:

The siblings realise the world keeps ending because they’re all in the same timeline. So in order to distribute the marigold, and save the end of the world, they all have to sacrifice being a family and never see each other again.

It ends with each sibling one by one (Lila and deigo come as a pair, I don’t make the rules) as they board the subway, each to their very own timeline in which the other family members don’t exist.

It’s heartbreaking, and for a family that were split and torn at the beginning of the series, the choice being made for them is even more heartbreaking because they’re a family now more than ever. But as they board the subway, we see a montage of them all in their HAPPY timelines, the beats of “I think we’re alone now” start playing and we realise, while the Hargreeves siblings finally have their happy ending, they are in fact, alone now. Cut to black. Cue BTS images.

Hey guys. I have some horrifying news about one of the fundraisers. This listing belongs to a family that wants to remain anonymous but keeps contact with me and the organizer. I don't know how to say this, but one of the two beautiful daughters has been martyred as a result of an air strike. The neighbour's building collapsed on them from the impact. The situation is absolutely harrowing and they need your help. I just received news of this 5 hours ago as of drafting this post. Please do not hesitate to help them.

Hi everyone, as you know Shaima and Muhammad are Wafaa's (@wafans-blog) sister and brother, who desperately hope to evacuate their youngest children with Wafaa's children as soon as the border crossing opens. They are verified by @el-shab-hussein's spreadsheet as family number 260.

Yesterday, Shaima and Muhammad's campaign was extremely slow, at times there would be hours of stagnation with no donations. Let's help their family get to $5,000 by the end of day today, so that they could secure the evacuation funds for Shaima's 8 year old daughter, Malak.

Malak loved drawing. Since she was little, she has had an extremely deep connection to art. She wasn't drawn to toys, and would never ask Shaima to buy any for her. Instead, she asked for art supplies. Slowly after years, she became ambitious about drawing nature and even her friends. She excelled at this in school, and began drawing about Palestine and famous things in Palestine. Wafaa says she is a beautiful child with a wonderful smile that could light up the room.

Malak hopes to become an artist when she grows up and experiment with more art media, but now all she can do is waking up every morning to wait in line for hours to get enough water for her family. Please help secure Malak's evaucation fee so that she could reunite with her aunt Wafaa, and so she could resume drawing again.

We have not had a donation in 25 minutes. The campaign is severely stagnating, please help us get to $5,000 by the end of day, so that we can secure Malak's evacuation registration fee alongside Salem, her newborn cousin.

Currently $4,085 of the $5,000 daily goal as of July 31 morning, that's $915 more to raise!

Please donate what you can!! @terroristiraqi was kind to host a crocheted sweater raffle, enter before August 4 for a chance to win this handmade sweater for a $5 donation minimum. Details here

Hi all, as you know now Shaima and Muhammad are Wafaa's sister and brother, and they urgently need to evacuate all 10 of their children before they can even think to evacuate themselves and their respective spouses.

Shaima and Muhammad's campaign was targeted by a smear campaign 2 days ago and their momentum suffered. This fundraiser was personally added to the vetted spreadsheet by @el-shab-hussein as family number 260, so please don't hesitate to donate.

Wafaa called Muhammad again earlier today to ask after the children, and she told me extremely worrying news. As you know, Salem was only born a few weeks ago in a militarily compromised field hospital in Khan Younis. Manal, Salem's mother, could not produce breast milk because of stress and malnutrition she is suffering herself. Salem since birth was diagnosed with anemia and he is very frail. On top of this, he is starving almost every day, due to the scarcity of milk available for purchase in Gaza. The family has been feeding Salem water and cooked flour but this is an extremely dangerous diet for a newborn to be on, and could have severe long-term health effects.

At the moment, the four parents in this family are scrambling to find milk and food for Salem but also the other children, and the task of calming Salem and taking care of him—as Salem is so hungry these past few days he could not even cry—has been given to the 15 year old twins Zeina and Malik.

Hala agency has told Wafaa they will charge adult rates for any children in the family older than 15 years old, which means 6 of the 10 children need $5,000 to be registered for evacuation, because of corporate greed.

Please help us raise enough money so that at least one of the twins can evacuate with Salem and the rest of the young children (Salma, age 5; and Malak, age 8) so that Salem would not be separated from his older cousin caretakers. This means we have to raise at least $15,000 by the end of day.

The last donations were from 10 minutes and 20 minutes ago, please don't let this campaign slow down again! Currently $13,311 raised of $15,000 daily goal, that's $1,689 left to raise by the end of day. We can do it with your help by sharing this campaign and donating what you can spare.

Please donate whatever you're able and enter the sweater raffle provided by @terroristiraqis which ends midnight TONIGHT! For an entry of minimum $5 donations (sending the proof of donation), you may win a white crocheted sweater! Details for this raffle here.

We are currently planning more raffles which will end in late August and beyond, so please stay tuned and continue donating. Thank you all for your continued support

remember that biden’s american rescue plan act included an expansion of the child tax credit that immediately cut childhood poverty in half. the only reason it was allowed to expire was a single senator (joe manchin) who is not running for reelection

you can help get millions of kids out of poverty by voting for Biden & your democratic senate candidate this november

remember that democrats & the left talked for years and years about how the price of insulin was outrageously high, causing people to die from trying to ration it, and then Joe Biden’s inflation reduction act capped the price of insulin at $35/month. the madman just did it

(*technically he could do it only for medicare, but medicares market power pressured eli lilly to drop the price to $35 for everyone. that was a 70% price cut)

you’re never going to believe who cast the tiebreaking vote in the senate on BOTH the inflation reduction act and the american rescue plan — that’s right, our very own vice president Kamala Harris 🌴👏 this administration is the best of the best all the way through, and we can keep making life better for millions of people by voting blue up & down the ballot in november

and remember: you can be a part of it. sign up to get the word out to swing voters with me at https://events.democrats.org/event/569897/

i just donated €10 to mohammed if someone can match it 🫶

matched it ☺️ if anyone who is able can match again, that would be great!

Matched!! Can anyone keep it going? <3

Look.

I have made you a chart. A very simple chart.

People say "You have to draw the line somewhere, and Biden has crossed it-" and my response is "Trump has crossed way more lines than Biden".

These categories are based off of actual policy enacted by both of these men while they were in office.

If the ONLY LINE YOU CARE ABOUT is line 12, you have an incredible amount of privilege, AND YOU DO NOT CARE ABOUT PALESTINIANS. You obviously have nothing to fear from a Trump presidency, and you do not give a fuck if a ceasefire actually occurs. You are obviously fine if your queer, disabled, and marginalized loved ones are hurt. You clearly don't care about the status of American democracy, which Trump has openly stated he plans to destroy on day 1 he is in office.

if you want to vote for a third party, what you are going to do is vote for biden in november 2024 and then as soon as that’s done, start trying to get ranked choice voting in your state

we will ALWAYS be a two party system until voting reform happens, and voting reform won’t happen if project 2025 happens.

suck it up and vote biden, then put the next four years to good use

Hello, 🌹🇵🇸🍉

I hope you are well.

You were among the first to help me promote my account on Tumblr, but unfortunately, my account has been suspended and I'm unsure of the reasons.

Could you please help me repost the message on my account to save my family from the war in Gaza? 🙏

I hope you can support me and stand by me as I restart this journey.🙏

Thank you ♥️
