General information:

  • The #bpython channel has moved to OFTC.
  • Type annotations have been added to the bpython code base.
  • Declarative build configuration is used as much as possible.

New features:

  • #883: Allow auto-completion to be disabled
  • #841: Respect locals when using bpython.embed
  • Use pyperclip for better clipboard handling

Changes to dependencies:

  • pyperclip is a new optional dependency for clipboard support
  • backports.cached-property is now required for Python < 3.8
  • dataclasses is now required for Python < 3.7
  • Support for Python 3.10 has been added.
