I know first hand that labor and delivery doesn't always go according to a mother's birth plan. You probably have heard this a thousand times. I think this is why we have such a strong desire to control things when it comes to labor and birth. I believe that it's the fear of the unknown.

Yes. You read that right. I had a 24 hour labor with no epidural. In fact, I didn't use any form of drug or medicine for pain relief.
