Was messing around with machine translation and typesetting official art, so I may as well share some of them here… fair warning, I don’t know Japanese, so the translation may be inaccurate!

I have no idea if theres a canon reason for this but. i think my favorite thing in zeno daily life is that the only reason fuyu doesn't come to save our asses in ending 3 is because tsugino didnt grab a piece of candy???? Is that what happened there????

Like whats so special about this candy. Did fuyu use it to sniff out our location or some shit???? If we dont grab it, does he find it himself, eat it and fucking die??? I dont know which of those is funnier.

I'm consistently missing things that happened in zeno (a mix of me being dumb and monolingual) so this very well could be another instance of something happening and me not noticing it. But until im told otherwise im choosing to believe fuyu is just very passionate about candy for some reason.

The candy is actually not what stops fuyu from coming to save Aki! There’s a hidden interaction counter that will determine whether you get ending 3 or the true ending— for the true ending, you need a lot of interactions while playing as him, and you’ll get ending 3 if you don’t get your counter high enough

That being said, IIRC the candy is still required for both of these endings.

OH MY GOD THANK YOU. i was. so confused, this makes much more sense.

i watched a russian lets play and used youtube’s auto translate to view this game so. either that got fucked up in translation or the person playing got it wrong??? idk.

either way. thank you this helps so much-

if it helps at all, pretty much no one could figure out that was the trigger for it for a long while haha–the person working on the english translation is the one who told me :]

it’s just not made very clear in the game itself–you can check with the girl in the cult facility to see which route you’re on track for: she’ll tell you something about your “fate” and that acts as an indicator

I'm new to the fandom and everything, but out of genuine curiosity how did that names "Aka" and "Kuro" become Maeno and Aki's nicknames?

Mostly to avoid confusion and spoilers! Depending on where you are in the game, you might not know about the nameswap yet, so to be clear about which character you’re speaking about, its popular to call them kuro (black) and aka (red) respectively.

its also popular on the non-english side of the fandom, so that probably played a part in it as well

The marutoku iceberg (but mostly ZENO)

It’s chill if you don’t but do you have a single clue how the colorless kaina endings work I’m very lost

It’s in japanese, but here is the ending guide to colorless kaina! The endings are broken up into three categories– The first don’t have any special conditions–they trigger when requirements are met automatically (ie, low sanity, choosing to abandon kaina, etc)

image

The second group branches on the last day based on your affection with Kaina given that specific conditions aren’t met. I’ll go over these conditions when discussing the next group of endings since they require them.

Kaina has two affection meters– “Ai (愛)” and “Koi (恋)”, and it’s fairly easy to raise the option you want, as it’s based on the order of dialogue options presented to you. The first choice raises the “Ai” stat, while the third raises the “Koi” stat. The center option will lower both of them. On the final day and on saturday/sunday events with Kaina, all choices are 5x as effective,

image

From there, it’s just a matter of going through the point requirements for each ending.

image

The third grouping of endings requires a specific set of conditions to be met, so I’m going to include them here below.

image

First, it requires completing the Mio event

  • The first step automatically occurs as your affection with Kaina increases–You’ll know when it happens
  • After that, you’ll receive the option to go see Kaina in the morning (カイナに会いに行く)
  • From there, keep selecting the investigate about Kaina option (カイナについて調べる)
  • You’ll know you’ve completed the event when Mio says that he won’t speak to you anymore (これで僕から君に言う事は最後だから。

Second, your sanity must be 50 or less on the final day

Third, you must have received a knife from Kaina during an event that only occurs on Saturday or Sunday mornings after your affection with him increases. You should have the option to go with him to a “special place”

For endings 11-15, you must select these answers when talking to Mio: Answer “Yes” (はい) to his first and second questions, and “No” (いいえ) to his third. From there, similar to the branches without meeting these conditions, they branch based on your affection with Kaina as of the final day.

Ending 16 will trigger if you answer Mio’s questions in any other way than that specific order, regardless of your affection with Kaina.

Hello Zeno nation, I’m currently making a doc for my and my friends that contains all the text and images of Zeno 4/1 as well as a transcription and English translation done with DeepL (done with a random playthrough I found on YouTube) I’ve only done Maeno’s route so far. However I’m not entirely sure why Marutoku took the game down, would it be disrespectful/morally wrong to post the doc online when I’m done since Marutoku chose to take the game down? Or would it be alright. Please I have no clue what to do

Hi! My guess is that it should be fine, but it may be a good idea to ask for permission just in case. All of the April fools games were removed for a while before being reuploaded, so it may also be worth it to wait to release the doc until the game is back up?

On a side note— I would be careful about how you organize the doc! Each route does have bonus dialogue depending on who has ZENO, so you would probably end up repeating a lot of the text LOL

The other translation doc that was floating around didn’t take this into account (and didn’t include the true ending), so it was pretty limited in its accuracy

I do have an archive of the game, so if you need any additional dialogues lmk I’m happy to provide them (though I can’t pass around my archive of it LOL)

The marutoku iceberg (but mostly ZENO)

ik i said i wouldnt post anything but this iceberg is taking me tf out… esp cause i know about some of these…

the second poipiku is such a nightmare, it should be placed lower tbh because no way a drawing of Noa with a big veiny cock is only ranked slightly under surface level

also the body pillows are so funny BSHSHBA the biggest fujo in the marutoku fandom is maduzu themself

I ranked these mostly based on obscurity! At the time, the link for the second poipiku was floating around rather frequently so that’s why it’s so high ^^;

Honestly most of these have become rather more well known in the time since I made this—I think I’d like to update it eventually to reflect the current state of the fandom

Hi!! Sorry if this is an annoying or dumb question but I wanted to try and use an MTL to play Zeno daily life, but I don’t think I can use anything like textractor because you can only play it in-browser. Do you have any ideas how I could go about it?

You can just download Google translate on your phone and use the camera to translate it and it should work! Outside of that, you can always wait for the official English translation to be done, since it’s in its final stages now
