However, the overall of factors are not yet fully accommodated in e-learning process. Meanwhile, the results of preliminary study of this research indicated that the existence of these factors as the inherent structure that reflect the relationship among learning styles and motivation to the knowledge ability (Triple-Factor) in elearning process. In order to accommodate the existence of inherent structure, this study explores the learning types based on triple-factor in e-learning process. The approach can be used as the basis for the learning recommendation and personalization in e-learning process. The approach consists of three steps: (1) identifying activity and evaluation of learning outcome, (2) forming Triple-Factor, and (3) detecting learning types based on Triple-Factor. The approach use 36 types of learning which consists of: 18 learning types that has the ability of knowledge good or very good, irrespective of the learning styles and motivation; and 18 learning types that has the ability of knowledge fail or sufficient, irrespective of the learning styles and motivation. Furthermore, the experiment for testing steps was carried by dividing two stages: the first stage did not implement the approach, second stage using learning recommendation and personalization. Result of the testing of these two stages are: step of " identifying activity and evaluation of learning outcome " at the second stage, showed that there was a significant increase on the activity of learning (0.007<0.05), and discussion forums (0.006<0.05), meanwhile the evaluation of learning outcomes (0.227>0.05) did not increase significantly. Step of "forming Triple-Factor", and " detecting learning type base on Triple-Factor" at the second stage showed: learning styles and motivation with the knowledge ability of good and very good increased from 57 to 69 students. In contrast learning styles and motivation with the knowledge ability of fail and sufficient decreased from 61 to 49. The results show that the approach used in the study successfully improve the learning process and its outcomes through learning recommendation and personalization.

Cellular Geography model applies Cellular Automata on Geographic data by defining transition rules to the data grid. This paper presents the techniques for extracting transition rule(s) from time series data grids, using multiple linear regression analysis. Clustering technique is applied to minimize the number of transition rules, which can be offered and chosen to change a new unknown grid. Each centroid of a cluster is associated with a transition rule and a grid of data. The chosen transition rule is associated with grid that has a minimum distance to the new data grid to be simulated. Validation of the model can be provided either quantitatively through an error measurement or qualitatively by visualizing the result of the simulation process. The visualization can also be more informative by adding the error information. Increasing number of cluster may give possibility to improve the simulation accuracy.

It gives a first order specification language for database transaction scripts and its accompanying logic. The logic is expressed in terms of weakest pre-condition rules and is quite simple and intuitive. The logic is sound, and, if the underlying basic expression language is limited, specifications in our language are decidable. Tables in a database are usually guarded by various integrity constraints. At the moment the logic only supports single attribute primary key constraint. The language has been embedded in HOL theorem prover. A verification case study on Student Entrance Test Application is described.

High Performance Computing resources were introduced by many researchers. This comes in the form of Supercomputers and with operating systems and tools for development such as parallel compiler and its library. However, these resources are expensive for the investation and maintenance, hence people need some alternatives. Many people then introduced parallel distributed computing by using available computing resource such as PCs. Each of these PCs is treated as a processors, hence the cluster of the PC behaves as Multiprocessors Computer. Many tools are developed for such purposes. This paper studies the peformance of the currently popular tools such as Parallel Virtaual Machine (PVM), Message Passing Interface (MPI), Java Remote Method Invocation (RMI) and Java Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA). Some experiments were conducted on a c...

Pharmacology screening of active compound of medicinal plants would be time consuming and costly. Molecular docking is one of the in silico method which is more efficient compare to in vitro or in vivo method for its capability of finding the active compound in medicinal plants. In this method, three-dimensional structure becomes very important in the molecular docking methods, so we need a database that provides information on three-dimensional structures of chemical compounds from medicinal plants in Indonesia. Therefore, this study will prepare a database which provides information of the three dimensional structures of chemical compounds of medicinal plants. The database will be prepared by using MySQL format and is designed to be placed in http://herbaldb.farmasi.ui.ac.id website so that eventually this database can be accessed quickly and easily by users via the Internet.

One of the virtual scientific research activity is molecular dynamic simulation. The virtual experiments need high computing resources to solve the problem. AMBER is one of the software that provides molecular dynamic simulation that can utilize the parallel computing facilities. In this paper, we conduct the molecular dynamic experiments in order to know reliability of cluster computing environment. The results show that an implicit solvent simulation takes longer time than that in vacuum scenario since one has to consider existence of solvent surround the molecules so the computation is much longer than in vacuum; that the speed up will likely to remain constant on certain additional number of processors; and that there is no significant speed up for case in the LOX-Curcumin explicit solvent simulation.

There is some software available that perform molecular dynamic, one of these is a well known GROMACS. Our previous experiment simulating molecular dynamics of Indonesian grown herbal compounds show sufficient speed up on 32 n odes Cluster computing environment. In order to obtain a reliable simulation, one usually needs to run the experiment on the scale of hundred nodes. But this is expensive to develop and maintain. Since the invention of Graphical Processing Units that is also useful for general programming, many applications have been developed to run on this. This paper reports our experiments that evaluate the performance of GROMACS that runs on two different environment, Cluster computing resources and GPU based PCs.

In tropical countries, the MD process is very important in the preparation of virtual screening experiments for anti-malaria search. Previous works on the virtual screening project for anti-malaria search conducted by WISDOM project uses grid infrastructure with 1,700 CPUs of various infrastructure provided in 15 countries . In silico anti malaria compounds searching from Indonesian medical plants using virtual screening methods are urgently required. This can reduce the cost and time required compared to the direct searching or examining each compound by in vitro and in vivo which will spend a lot of time and expense . However, the use of thousands of processors is difficult for the researchers with limited resources in developing countries such as Indonesia. Our of previous studies using MD with GROMACS shows the improvement of the simulation time using Cluster. But that is not the case for some of our previous works with AMBER on Cluster where we did not obtain significant speed up. However, our previous works running GROMACS on GPUs provided significant speed up about 12 times faster than that run on Cluster. In this study , we build a GPU -based computing environment and have some MD simulation with AMBER. We used several computing environments such as cluster with 16 cores , GPU Geforce GTX 465 , GTX 470 , GTX 560 , GTX 680 , and GTX 780 . In addition to PfENR ( Plasmodium falciparum Enoyl acyl Carrier Protein Reductase ) enzyme , as benchmark we also conducted MD experiments on Myoglobin protein , Dihydrofolate reductase (DHFR) protein, and Ras -Raf protein . All experimental results showed that the slowest MD processes occurred on Cluster, followed in increasing order by GTX 560, GTX 465, GTX 470, GTX 680 and GTX 780. While the GPU speed up relative to cluster is about 24 , 26 , 32 , 24 , 77 and 101, respectively. .

All processes in learning activities are designed to facilitate students to achieve the goals. Many factors influence the success of achieving those goals, such as learning style, motivation, knowledge ability, etc. In the conventional learning process, it's assumed that all factors are the same among students. However, this is not the case in the reality. Previous studies showed that the denial of those factors cause the unoptimal student's ability to learn. Hence, in order to improve the effectiveness of their learning process, those factors have to be facilitated. The result of our preliminary study indicates that the existence factors of inherent structure that reflect relationship among learning style, motivation and knowledge ability. In this paper, we propose an e-learning framework based on those factors.

In the preparation of virtual screening experiments, MD is one of the important processes particularly for tropical countries in searching for anti-Malaria drugs. The search for anti-Malaria has previously conducted, for example by WISDOM project utilizing 1,700 CPUS. This computing infrastructure will be one of the limitation for country like Indonesia that also needs in silico anti malaria compounds searching from the country medical plants. Thus finding suitable and affordable computing environment is very important. Our previous works showed that our dedicated Cluster computing power with 16 cores performance better than those using fewer cores, however the GPU GTX family computing power is much better. In this study, we investigate further our previous experiment in finding more suitable computing environment on much better hardware specification of non dedicated Cluster computing and GPU Tesla. We used two computing environments, the first one is Barrine HPC Cluster of The University of Queensland which has 384 compute nodes with 3144 computing cores. The second one is Delta Future Grid GPU Cluster which has 16 computing nodes with 192 computing cores, each nodes equipped with 2 NVIDIA Tesla C2070 GPU (448 cores). The results show that running the experiment on a dedicated computing power is much better than that on non dedicated ones, and the GPU performance is still much better than that of Cluster.
