The population's willingness to pay was determined using a double-bounded dichotomous choice approach to obtain responses for a finance mechanism to improve SWM services in Kuala Nerus. A structured questionnaire survey was conducted on 300 households, including all the major towns and villages. According to the bid questions, most respondents (72.48%) said they would be willing to pay RM2 for solid waste management in their area, and 27.52% were not willing to pay RM2. For bid2, 65.74% of the respondents were willing to pay RM4 for the solid waste management. As a result, 30.9% of respondents stated they did not want to pay for solid waste management in their area. The survey found that when the bid was high, the respondent's WTP value decreased from 72.48% (bid1) to 65.74% (bid2). This research adds to the body of knowledge on a key aspect of the financing mechanism, WTP, for better SWM services. The findings will benefit efforts to build a long-term finance structure for waste management services in Kuala Nerus, Terengganu.

This encourages explored the intricate interplay between climate change, environmental pollution, and the Covid-19 pandemic, shedding light on their collective impacts on global mental health. The empirical evidence presented reveals how climate-induced disasters and pollution exacerbate mental health challenges, while the pandemic's multifaceted effects further compound these burdens. Vulnerable populations, including low-income communities, children, and frontline workers, face disproportionate mental health implications in this context. As the implications of this "triangle impact" become increasingly evident, urgent and comprehensive action is imperative. Policymakers and healthcare practitioners must adopt an integrated approach that incorporates climate adaptation measures, pollution mitigation stra...

The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) aims to harmonise rules and regulations ac... more The Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) aims to harmonise rules and regulations across many overlapping free trade agreements in the region in order to attract new members. It's aims to strengthen Asean's relations with Australia, China, Japan, and New Zealand and made trade agreement's goal to create a contemporary, comprehensive, high-quality, and mutually advantageous economic cooperation that will help expand regional trade and investment while also contributing to the region's global economic growth and development. It does, however, confront a number of obstacles. Many people believe that the RCEP will be another low-quality regional trade agreement due to the inclusion of a flexibility concept and the 'ASEAN Way' of decision-making. The RCEP, on the other hand, gives all ASEAN members the opportunity to help establish the agenda for a regional agreement. As a result, despite its difficulties, ASEAN must make an effort to achieve an attractive RCEP in comparison to other regional agreements.

The research used the updated version of Driscoll and Kraay model by Hoechle, which resolved the consequences of heteroscedasticity and cross-sectional dependency. The empirical results of the study reveal that the EKC hypothesis is supported in these leading African economies. Carbon emissions increase due to foreign direct investment (FDI) and energy consumption. Financial development improves the environmental quality in these leading African economies. The interactive role of financial development and economic growth increases CO 2 emissions thereby degrading the quality of environment. The study recommends that environmental policies that minimize emissions should be enforced for the purpose of making the environment cleaner, FDI should be environmentally friendly and relevant incentives are required to redirect private credits towards green projects and renewable energy development.

Therefore, effective management systems need to be created and infrastructure facilities for recycling needs to be developed to prevent an accumulation of e-waste that contain hazardous materials in landfill areas. However, an understanding of people‟s willingness to recycle e-waste is important. This research aims to identify the perceptions of service quality, determinant factors of e-waste recycling, and examine the economic valuation on recycling preferences. Several methods were used in this research, namely, Critical Incident Technique (CIT),Factor Analysis (FA) and Choice Modelling (CM). A total of 600 respondents were randomly selected in nine precincts in Putrajaya. The CIT methods were used to analyse the satisfaction or dissatisfaction level. Five successful constructs were identified and prioritised, namely „Good Feeling‟,...

It indicates projection energy consumption of an electrical equipment according to energy efficiency rating system. This study applied choice experiment (CE) method in which the conditional logit (CL) model was valued to determine students’ willingness to pay (WTP) based on their preferences of the energy label attributes of table fans. A questionnaire survey was distributed to 151 on-campus students in Terengganu, Malaysia. The attributes were speed of fan, energy consumption and energy star and price of fan. The study found that the students mostly preferred energy consumption attribute with WTP estimation of RM123.538 (USD29.66) at level two and RM42.88 (USD10.30) at level three. These findings illustrate how people place value on monetary and non-monetary attributes based on their preferences. A label with en...

For those purposes, substantial measures and policies have been implemented geared towards green growth and sustainability, as stipulated in the 9 th , 10 th , and 11 th Malaysia Plans commencing from 2006 until 2020. Nevertheless, it is indeed a challenge in striking to achieve these targets due to reported increment in the total final energy consumption by 30% from 2010 until 2014. Demand for electricity in Malaysia has been expected to surge between 5% and 6% within these couple of years in line with nation urbanisation and economic progression. As such, a number of macroeconomic indicators that might have influenced Malaysia's electrical consumption had been analysed for the 1970-2016 period by estimating electricity consumption per capita demand function linked with economic growth, foreign direct investment inflows, trade liberalisation, population growth, urbanisation population growth, financial development, industrialisation, inflation, and household consumption expenditure. The analysis was conducted by using the Autoregressive Distributed Lag model. The estimation outcomes revealed the roles of economic progression and urbanization that led to increment in electrical consumption, whereas financial deepening and higher inflation linked to reduction. Such results enlighten significant insights for policymakers. For instance, since electricity consumption rises with urbanisation, it is essential that energy-efficient appliances are made relatively affordable and readily available for urbanites. The central bank also should play its part by lowering the lending rates so as to allow the financial institutions across the nation to offer attractive loans with lower financing cost to firms associated to renewable energy. With more companies being involved in cleaner alternative energy production, the nation is deemed to minimise its carbon emissions by decreasing its dependence upon coal to generate electricity.

However, this relationship has not been adequately addressed. The main purpose of this paper is to investigate the influence of foreign direct investment and aids and trade openness on economic growth in Jordan by employing time series data from 1970 to 2017. The Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) model and Bayer-Hanck Cointegration was employed to examine the relationship between the variables empirically. The findings revealed the existence of a long-run relationship among the variables. Foreign direct investment (FDI), aids, trade openness and structural breaks are positive and significantly influencing the economic growth in both short run and long run. The results recommended that higher foreign investment may increase the ability of aids to increase the economic growth. Therefore, policy makers should balance between investment friendly policies such as foreign direct investment that will be attracted into the country for sustainable economic growth.
