KWTU is a classical music radio station in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Most of the station's classical programming comes from American Public Media's Classical 24, a 24-hour national service. KWTU is owned and operated by The University of Tulsa which also owns NPR station KWGS. According to the Tulsa World, 88.7 MHz was the last open frequency on the FM dial in Tulsa and KWTU's 5,000 watt signal is the maximum allowed by the FCC under the current market conditions. KWTU is a Class C2 FM radio station.
KWTU is licensed by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission to broadcast in the HD (hybrid) format.[1]
