Yeah, something wrong there with page changes. Each crew member is supposed to start on left left page. The page before those is only supposed to be there as a filler if the number of pages prior wasn't even. Looks like the page before the filler page is somehow messing up the filler page positioning and making it take more than a page.

Should be able to lock them at first too. Have you noticed that they only unlock if you also rerolled your initial cargo?

So I'm guessing you had 7 dice. The second time you rolled a seven should have indeed brought you to 100% and not over. Are you sure it was a 7 too?

He is riding a crocodile because he doesn't have a ship anymore... 🤷‍♀️

Can you post a pic of how it looks for you? That doesn't sound right...

It should be like this:

Thanks! The Steam version is basically the same just wrapped in a lightweight browser app. The only difference really is how the music and sounds are played since they didn't work straight out of the box so they're played from the actual wrapper app side. I guess there must be something wrong there if the musics gets distorted (probably due those pitch shifts) and must be the source of the lag if the web version is running fine for you. I'll look more into it.

Looks like it’s your previous unlock notification. But why it’s still partly visible I do not know.

My guess would be it's leftovers from a previous event where you had to choose a crew member for something. No clue why it would still be there at this point though. How long was it there or did it appear after you were browsing the log book?

Good question! So the original version of the game was made for js13k, a game jam where you make a game that must fit completely in 13 kilobytes (ie. like 1% of a floppy disk). It lasts for a month and I'm pretty sure coming up with the name was one of that last things I did even though the game was almost 99% there after the first week. I was and had been browsing a lot of different wikipedia articles and lists of nautical/pirate word definitions and those two were some of that just sounded fun to me. Especially together as they kinda rhyme. So not much more reason behind it than that.

1.3.2 was a smaller patch just fixing an issue on 1.3.1 (added explanation on its devlog).

And thanks! Sure it would be nice to have a wider audience but I'm not much of a marketing person. I just like making games.

Will do. This wasn't an intentional change...

Yup, can't enter the cabin in the middle of events. The cage isn't there because you have the key. But I guess you haven't unlocked the potential contents of the cage yet...

Seems like an RNG seeding issue. I'll look into it...

What do you mean?

Is that after a reset?

For the math game, it's difficult. Don't think an algorithm for solving whether something is possible or not is too simple. And for spice trader I disagree. He is the biggest reason to actually keep spice on you at all times. And at least one is offered after every battle. So it's kinda on you if you don't have any.

Any clue at which point they disappeared?

Should be fixed now! Basically there was a save data mismatch between 1.3.0 and 1.3.1 and it should now succeed at importing the previous save with only minimal loss of data. All the unlocks at least should be there.

Super weird. Does it now happen every time (when an log entry would unlock). What does the log book show? Cause by the looks of it the save has somehow gotten messed up...

Is it supposed to be your turn to shoot or what? Any rhyme or reason how/when it happens? If it happens again, could you check your browser console (F12 on Chrome and Firefox at least) for errors?

I guess it isn't either turn (yet) as neither guy has their leg on the cannon... 🤔

The message disappears when you hover on the letters. Still not optimal, especially on mobile I guess. Gotta come up with something better... 🤔

I guess this would be at least better for now

Oh now I think what is happening. So when you get the key, it saves the seed for the next run. If you just refresh after that it doesn't reset the seed at that point. So if you're stuck in a limbo like that now, you can hit restart on options menu right after the page reload. Will fix this on the next patch too. Obviously it doesn't need to save the seed after it's been used.

So yes, the latest patch I added in seeded rng though at least yet you can't change the seed yourself. How did you restart the run? I guess somehow it got stuck using the same seed...

Might not be a bug. Not sure if I made bard "trigger hop" with other crew member triggers as he is technically helping...

Haven't been able to repro the divine wish crash yet so if you have any more details, that'd be nice. Most likely some specific combination of existing crew + wished one.

Yup, not adding normal starter dice when gold ones are there is indeed a bug. Only happens when you enter cabin while having them. Fix coming later today...

The golden dice are supposed to be on top of the normal two starter dice, not replacing them. If you visit the cabin when you start with them, you seem to not be able to add normal starter dice which is a bug.

Yes, there is an interaction with fished up cargo & turts 😉 And yup, you can wish for a key.

Good finds on the infinite birds & fishing. I'll patch a fix for those later today (and some of the not so critical issues too)...

Remember who you tried to wish for in this case?

(1 edit)

Only through wishing. And yes, only difference on em is the double damage.

They're only included in the loot pool on "bad luck" starts ie. With cargo roll of less than 6 total.

The "blank" events do not actually count and there will be another event afterwards before the next combat one. Unless of course I've missed some of them...

It's gonna be a bit tough. Quite a lot of the animations are so deeply baked into the core of the game. But could add options for removing some easy stuff like bg, clouds etc which would already help some I think. I'll see what I can do. Not probably going to happen on the next patch (coming maybe later today or at least in few days time) yet though.

Valid points!

For the spelling game, it is actually told in dialogue but just in a "language" you don't understand. And wouldn't one get it in the first failure ie. not fail it repeatedly? Not very many times at least.

The patch I'm currently working on adds in a log book to your ship that tracks all events you've encountered offering more info and hints about them. Also includes an option to start with a crew member and trinket, but you gotta unlock and earn those starters though.

I guess there is a chance for infinity there. Pretty rare though...

Yup, already fixed.

Seems to be caused by the event you had before where you pick one crew member and the other will end up on the next enemy (the frog one in the pic). That seems to cause enemy to get too many crew members and causes an error. Managed the repro and fix and next patch will be coming soon...

Oh I see! You can actually bring up that menu at any time by pressing ESC.

I'm pretty sure websites can not go full screen on their own and need user interaction to do so. I think at least most browsers do enforce this security thing.

Next patch is still in the works. Can't say for sure yet but I'm aiming to get it release ready in a week or so.
