1900 Evening dress

Many people like things that smell brand new and can be unwrapped from plastic, meaning in reality, they just add to pollution of our planet. But some people specifically prefer the items that have been touched by history and are commonly referred to as antiques.

1902 Oak Leaf dress designed by House of Worth for Chicago born Lady Mary Curzon (Vicereine of India).

It's made of duchess silk satin. Bodice is lined with cotton and covered with cotton bobbinet. All bodice seams are boned. Skirt is faced with silk satin and it has two cotton bobbinnet over layers. White tulle layer is covered with c. 7000 silver sequins, individually attached. Black tulle has a Greek key appliqué that I cut out of silk velvet and hand stitched in place. Edwardian evening dress, Downton Abbey inspired dress- great for any special occasion - wedding, party, ball, cruise or Edwardian tea party. As you can see - I love the fashion from the beginning of the last century.
