Could really go for some platonic bedsharing and cuddling featuring The Characters on this fine Tuesday
mac, about to pull the funniest prank of his life:
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply Characters: Jack Dalton (MacGyver TV 2016), Riley Davis, Angus MacGyver (MacGyver TV 2016), Matilda “Matty” Webber Additional Tags: Worried Jack Dalton (MacGyver TV 2016), Hurt Angus Macgyver (Macgyver TV 2016), Worried Riley Davis, Emotional Hurt/Comfort, POV Jack Dalton (MacGyver TV 2016), Hospitalization Summary:
Matty sends Mac and Riley on a mission by themselves while she and Jack supervise from the war room. When Mac is injured, Jack is angry that the team was separated.

Mac’s scream was seared into Jack’s memory forever. He stepped forward, reaching for the wall of monitors like he could reach through time and space, grab his partner, and stop his fall.
If Mac were standing in the war room with Jack and Matty, he’d be mentally calculating the variables to determine the distance and severity of the fall. The scream felt like it lasted an eternity and was still ringing in Jack’s ears, but he was sure it was only for a second. Maybe two. Definitely not more than three.
Jack closed his eyes and waited for the impact, but all that came was a fizzle and pop as Mac’s comm went dead.
“Riley, report,” Matty demanded.
Her voice was unexpected, and Jack jumped at the sound. His eyes popped open, and he stared at the monitors, but they didn’t have a live sat feed of the area. The monitors only displayed images relevant to the mission and a map from the previous day.
“How did this happen?” Jack muttered under his breath. The two younger members of his team were sent out on this mission by themselves. It was supposed to be an easy op at a nerd conference. They just needed to separate one evil villain scientist from his laptop, and consequently the formula for a deadly bioweapon, and they’d be home in time for supper.
Instead, Mac wound up dangling from a third-floor balcony at their hotel while avoiding the scientist, who’d returned to his room unexpectedly. One second, he had a death grip on the railing, arguing with Jack about the lethality of nerve agents, and the next, he was screaming.

the self-indulgent fanfiction will continue until morale improves
The self-indulgent fanficiton will also continue after morale improves, just with better morale.
the hardest part of writing is when you fall in love with a scene that has absolutely no place in the story
@feedthefandomfest these tags are perfect though
I engage with fiction in a normal way. don’t look at my blog
the characters.. what jf. they held hands. what if they held eachothers hands
I’m honestly just abusing my free time at this point, but enjoy my shitpost art lol
Did another version bc someone suggested I did it with James
Do not write fanfiction. One second you're normal and the next you're downloading a calendar from 2004 and tearing your hair out over what specific date every event in your fic happens
Thanks for playing along, MacGyver fandom! For a tiny fandom we're going strong!
It's taken me a bit to scour Tumblr and AO3 to make sure I was counting every new fanwork created for the Writealong. Most works ended up on AO3, but a few didn't get put into the Collection, and there were a couple Tumblr-only posts. BUT! I've pulled together a list of every work I'm aware of and crunched some numbers, because who doesn't love some stats, amiright?
This year we had
2 artists + numerous others who helped me put together an awesome list of prompts!
13 writers participating!
64 new fanworks! (That includes a few separate chapters for writers who combined several prompts into a multi-chapter story)
Most used prompts: It was a 3-way tie between
Most prolific writer: @lilituism, with 11 stories -- one for every day of the event. Impressive!
Want to get a full list of stories? You're in luck! I've made a spreadsheet which lists every work by writer and prompt. Unsurprisingly--becasue it happens every time in every challenge--there was more written to the earlier prompts than the later ones.
(Note that the sheet lists only 62 words, but there were 2 occassions when the same writer wrote 2 stories for the SAME prompt, which meant the spreadsheet's count is an undercount.)
What to do now that the Writealong is over?
So because of your blog I started watching MacGyver, and a) already this is an excellent decision and b) I'm only on the first episode but it's insane to me how basically as soon as Mac realizes Nikki is alive, he just looks feverish/ill/like crap. Pale, sweaty, the whole nine yards. I have no idea if this was intentional or not [or if it was intentional but only because he keeps doing feats of exertion right after the discovery], but I love that detail.
Thanks for getting me into the show.
hey you're SO right and I'm gonna be thinking about this for a while. psychogenic illness is my JAM. being betrayed by someone you love sort of rewrites your memory of them, and Mac's mind already works dizzyingly fast. he's going over every memory, every word they exchanged, everything, and the knowledge that she lied is poisoning everything. and it has a physical toll on mac and we love to see it
anyway I'm yapping fjdkdj THANK YOU for your message, and welcome to the fandom. I hope u have lots of fun 💕🫶🏼
If i missed any please let me know (yes i know sickness isnt on here, i had limited options)
How am I only just learning this!?
