I'm not sure what's up with the cult following of this movie... It's a very jarring and awkward script. I struggled with finishing this, because it felt like watching the same scene on repeat with some differences here and there.
For all its hype with the resurgence of 90's-early 2000's fashion, the costume design was lackluster. The palettes of each character were very expected and drab—Annette's outfits in particular were disappointing. Her personality is very sweet and forgiving, but her "signature" pieces of scoop neck long sleeves and cheap-looking collared shirts didn't indicate her prim nature or wealthy status.
