Toward the end i really felt bad for elisasue since it seemed as if in the end, when facing the audience for her big night, she briefly came to her senses. When she looked back and realized how bad she has messed up and wished for her old self back. Like a moment of lucidity before fading away.

The cinematography is gorgeous and it really helps in this case since its certainly a more "show, dont tell" type of movie. Sadly, I feel like the early stages of the relationship between Therese and Carol were really rushed and hence, made it difficult to believe these two were truly in love instead of searching for a distraction in each other from their messy lives.
