the power struggle within the highest levels in church was very fascinating to see. the ending was not satisfactory at all, a whole sequence would be good to just debate the legitimacy of benitez as a pope, given his androgynous sexual state (and the whole 'god made me like this' thing is dumb, should be scratched). the film also shows how knowing too much (i.e. lawrence finding out all the secrets and driving himself mad) might not be that nice…
