Flow 2024
Flow's story is told primarily through its constantly changing environment, as we explore this apocalyptic setting with a cast of animals that don't ever talk during the film. Yet, even without the dialogue, every animal is able to harness so much character and convey so much emotion.
The score is incredible and really moved me during the crescendos of the film. I love the found family trope (it's one I've always been a sucker for) and I love cats so I was probably always going to like this one.

The Electric State 2025
Another colossal waste of money from Netflix and the Russo Brothers and it's infuriating to know that this project got the go-ahead but Mindhunters Season 3 didn't. Every aspect of this movie is just so nonsensical that it's scarcely believable that this wasn't some elaborate money laundering scheme instead of a genuine film.

The Substance features some very heavy themes, taking aim at Hollywood's beauty standards for women while also at times toying with the fourth wall to attack the audiences' gaze as well.
Fargeat has constructed a very tightly focused and stylistic world. Both Margaret Qualley and Demi Moore deliver some brave performances that are captivating. The revolting visual effects (that have become a main talking point) are also incredible.
