Do the Right Thing 1989
black is power.
i love this film with my whole heart and soul. from the music, to the acting, to the comedy. the everything of this movie is perfectly executed and i’m sure it still speaks to so many people still to this day. the discussion around violence in this film is so nuanced and so well done. i’m so glad i saw it in a theatre and for the first time. one of my favourite movies ever EVER!!!!

i loved the visuals so much, it’s really well filmed but i give it a three simply because i wish to see more of Emilia perspective instead of Rita’s. I liked their bond tho but i expected way more talk about trans identity and how transitioning is so more complex than just getting surgery. The musics were great but sometimes throughout the movie, some musics felt like they didn’t belonged here at all. So yeah that’s why i’ll give it a three!! (bravo les lesbiennes sinon)
