Ad Astra 2019
People seem to be on the money here; visually stunning, painfully slow.
It’s by no means a bad film, but it wasn’t great either.
No elements of the plot felt original; every scene has more or less been done before in other space-themed films.
Outside of that, the cinematography was beautiful, the visual FX were pristine, the score was touching, the acting was delicate.
It was a very well made film with a run-of-the-mill storyline.
But if you go in expecting that, and embrace those other elements, there are some nice moments to take from it.Oh yeah, the narration was so unnecessary

Basically just Rocky 4 again, but the saving grace for me was showing the ramifications of Drago losing to Rocky. Not often do we see the villain’s side of things. Ivan not wanting his son to experience the same thing he did was a nice touch.
