this made my history loving heart happy! dunye explores the ethics of research like intersectionality, archival bias, and de-centering whiteness. her sentiments are obvious looking at her casting choices as well. overall, it's so refreshing to see a flim so unapologetically lesbian and black! no compromising to traditional hollywood standards whatsoever
