  Ever heard of a story where a young woman is ”rescued” by a richer, more privileged man tho whom she is an object of desire who can be left behind when everything fails? Anora doesn’t seem to offer much of anything new story-wise. Surely the aspect of prostitution is still somewhat tabu but if Baker is trying to destigmatise prostitution it’s not done very well condisering ”Ani” is attracting an everlasting patriarchal visual gaze and seems to be very sexualised.…

  Misery loves company… Joakim is struggling with his loneliness and mirrors it onto the foxes who have their misery being locked up in small cages. Is it fair? The documentary follows someone who is clearly going through a rough time but the foxes don’t get a say. We hear their cries but never get to hear what they have to say.   What a film! Felt like a comforting hug on the outside and something that tore you apart from the inside at the same time. Miraculously touching on a deep level, had to stop for a sobbing session afterwards
