  Watching 2001: A Space Odyssey has as much entertainment value as attending the funeral of a recently deceased family member. It's a lot like staring at a blank piece of paper for 2 and a half hours and then being asked to describe the beautiful painting you just examined.   i would be embarrassed to be associated with this movie in any way. "oh it's just meant to be fun don't think about it too hard" if i had to shut off any more of my brain to enjoy this movie i would be comatose.
