another Sofia Coppola masterpiece with her signature aesthetic, symbolism, & implied narrative…deeply unsettling, beautifully-told story about girlhood being robbed & manipulative relationships but interspersed with sweet, funny moments & a hopeful ending. I think it adequately balances out Baz Luhrmann’s Elvis. Cailee Spaeny killed it!
This was a delicious watch and in many ways, a bit too close to home 😄 it’s hard for me to wrap my head around the fact that the screenwriter and director of this are both men because this movie encapsulates a feeling that is so unique to women.
