Howl's Moving Castle 2004

this was a really fun watch! the music is iconic and howl is so... GUYS uhm! the art is really pretty and i really loved all the characters. however! the ending felt.. confused? or rushed i guess? it didnt ruin the movie or anything but they could have made it more clear why things were happening the way they were! i think thats just one of the sacrifices that you make when converting a book into a movie. i havent read the book though so this is just thinking about the movie on its own! overall, really fun and great!

i think this movie is one of my favs! the music was so so so good and the overall editing style is so cool! i think that they are able to say a lot with the cannibalism as a metaphor for different things. its easy to imagine the scenes without the specifics and suddenly its conversations and thoughts ive had. love is so scary and overwhelming! great movie!

music was GREAT and the animation was so pretty! i loved ashitaka's character and the themes were definitely still applicable to today's world despite coming out almost 30 years ago!
