  Really sweet and funny. Watched at the broadway cinematheque and was about to leave then the lead actress came out with someone else on the crew and. It’s a meet and greet or something. Did not know that. Oopsies. Good movie though i’m very pensive between a 3 and 3.5 star rating

  You know why this is my favourite tree? Because it's tipped over, and it's still growing.

  The portrayal of a class. Its struggle. Its joy. Its idiosyncrasy... So wonderfully. I'm fucking crying again. My heart feels so broken and pieced together.

  This feels so raw so honest. To me, this is the dichotomy of child and adulthood. This is what it feels to come of age.

  The direction and visuality... Something so fucking magical about the lens the whole film…

  The female angst anger and rage is there but it’s just not so enigmatic that it screams what it needs to. Wanted to love it because of its references to some movies i love but it was missing a little bit of pathos & some of it was very camp. Final act is clearly more visceral and makes the first two(?) seem unsubstantial.

  Seriously incredible. I was so in awe from the animation and the pure beauty in the visuals… seriously seriously incredible. The film had some substance too—which doesnt ALWAYS come about in shonen anime—I particularly liked the anti capitalist sentiment and the cautionary tale-esque narrative about greed power and corruption… maybe i’m thinking too much but that’s what I do!!! For real though this was a delight to watch. :3
