  I don't get this movie. Parts are laugh out loud funny even if they weren't meant to be. Other parts are sigh out loud dumb.

  "In the Name of the Father" was an early influence on me. "Marlowe" is stylish (maybe too stylish??), but has a few cool scenes and I'm a sucker for any movie set in Hollywood's Golden Era.

Note the brilliant, theatrical Lighting, and remember that there can be several moods within a single shot that can be exploited through blocking, moving lights and live transitions. And above all else watch for Jack Lemmon’s masterful performance. In a room full of giants, he towers.
