The Afterlight 2021
As someone who has recently handled this print in preparation for a screening, it’s fascinating to see how other projectionists have left their mark in the process during its run at various venues. Perfectly good printed in end of reel change over cues have been ‘re-etched’, original tail to reel 1 is missing, a couple of splices even though it’s a polyester based print and of course some general wear on ends of reels. The print does still look fantastic however but I guess these ‘character’ marks all play part in Charlie Shackleton’s vision for The Afterlight’s journey.
