“There's nothing new in human experience, Mr. Tully. Each generation thinks it invented debauchery or suffering or rebellion, but man's every impulse and appetite from the disgusting to the sublime is on display right here all around you.” - Paul Hunham

A new fav Christmas movie. I was watching this movie while collaging and was constantly taken aback by how deep Tully’s voice is. I kept thinking that it was Paul Giamatti speaking.
Loved the character development of the three main leads, especially Paul Giamatti.

Let’s make more Christmas movies set in the ‘70s.

“Life after death is as improbable as sex after marriage” - Mrs. White

Fierce cast, highly campy, and all the cheesy-comedy -horny-punchlines that you want from murder mystery from the 80s.
The women’s costumes are beautiful, especially Peacocks’s fur/feathers lewk. Not much to write home about the men’s costuming (shocker!)

This is Yvette’s world and we’re all just living in it.

In true Hitchcock style, the film starts quite slow. The tension begins to rise at the end. The amount of detail that went into every Hitchcock film is truly inspiring, with this being no different. The dynamics of gender, sexuality, relationships, and shifts in perspective are among the reasons that this film is regarded a classic.
