i will always be a 2005 girlie (gender neutral), but i gotta say i loved this. colin firth’s darcy is great, i love his little mannerisms and acting choices. it’s finals season right now so my brain power is severely lacking at the moment so bit a lot of profound thoughts.
the only performance that i didn’t like all that much was susannah harker’s jane bennet. i thought it was flat to a fault. it wasn’t bad, just not one i liked.

i think fantasy movies should commit to being fantasy movies again, instead of walking the line between historical fiction, historical fantasy, and fantasy. i like what twitches does: put an extra planet in the sky that’s always there. why? cuz it’s fun! and so is this movie

so you know that scene where the captin sings Edelweiss, a song showing his Austrian patriotism, but chokes up because his country, which he loves dearly, is descending into fascism? very topical at this moment in history and that did make me cry tonight.
