In many ways it's mid 90's but where Jonah Hill just patted himself on the back and tried to look troubled Didi really captures the awkwardness and loneliness of the early teen years as well as nailing every possible early 2000's reference. The clothes, the exact atmosphere ringtone I had in grade 10, fighting and confiding to smartchild, and making incriminating YouTube videos for the world to see sent me on a cringe but sentimental trip down memory lane.
WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!?
This will probably be my most watched Copolla film. This was a theatre experience everyone deserves. It seemed like half the audience was really trying their best to take the movie seriously and find the art in it right up until the "back to the cleerrrrbbbb" line and from then on it was like a screening of the room.
At no point did I have any idea how this was going to end, or even what…
It definitely has its entertaining moments and it’s visually appealing but most of the actors felt like they were there so they could advertise their name on the poster rather than being right for the part.
Timmy and Zendaya were awkward
Austin Butler is a voice actor
Christopher Walken was hilarious
And Bautista screams every line.
Really enjoyed the sand crip walk though
