The Daytrippers 1996
This movie is as beautiful, funny, complicated and emotional as any interpersonal relationship and I especially loved how messy everything gets towards the end. It never quite allows us to forget that we are meant to be 'rooting for' and 'supporting' Eliza (and arguably Jo, as well), while simultaneously making it abundantly clear that the other characters are not villains or even fully antagonistic forces - we are all just chaotic pieces of a cosmic puzzle: we are desperate to fit in somewhere and figure out our place, but sometimes we don't fit as well as we originally thought.
