  I don't understand how this didn't become an instant classic. I am entranced and in love with Russell Crowe's performance, and the whole thing is an insane concept developed into something so darn entertaining and fun!
  Also it's so amusing to me specifically that one of the final scenes felt taken directly from The Lawnmower Man, that's just an added bonus and I'm here for it.

  Edit. Oh my god it's from the same director, everything makes sense now and I'm in love

  From the trailers I was expecting a movie so stupid I wouldn't be able to enjoy even the few good moments in it, but I was pleasantly surprised.
  It's obviously not great, the comedic timing is often off compared to the cartoons, and some of the jokes are incredibly outdated, however I enjoyed Canet and Lellouche as Asterix and Obelix (I honestly didn't think I would) and I'd be happy to see them again in the roles. There's an overall…
